Greetings from Tuebingen, Southern Germany!
We are in our mid 40's. Our daughter is 7 years old. She's easy going, gets along well with new people and has experienced traveling to Costa rica, Brazil, Bali, Belize, US, and many parts of Europe....most of which were HOME EXCHANGE trips. We're experienced exchangers and have exchanged approximately 15 times. My husband is from northern Germany and I'm from the US (Michigan). Before moving to Germany, we lived together in Chicago and Boston. My husband is a orthopaedic surgeon and scientist and I am a scientist/professor. We've been in Tuebingen for almost 10 years now and both absolutely love it for so many reasons....location location location. We love traveling all over the world and meeting new people. We enjoy experiencing life and adventure....from rustic to posh to adventure,....we're up for it all! Our photo is taken in a flower field just a 5 minute bike ride from our house. From spring to fall cut, pick, pay, and pack flowers in your basket on your bike...that's European life!

In a fairy tale surounding (Tubingen's old town and the Neckar's riverside) one of the best location for a relaxing and carefree vacation. The house very well positioned by the river, makes you feel you're in the country, but in ten minutes walking (3 driving) you're in Tubingen's center with all it's shopping, dinning, markets, museums, old churches, concerts etc. etc. The house is very well equipped and has a wonderfull view over the river in the front and the woods in the back. We followed the complete (almost professional) guide, Melanie has prepared and that made our vacation much easier. Everything was there: favorite restaurants, shopping, house's manual, one day excursions, maps, bus train itineraries etc. etc. We were lucky to meet Melanie and Bernd, who are a charming and very friendly and smiling couple who stole our hearts. They took great care of our house and our cat, like it was their own. Although we've been in Germany many times, we would exchange with them again TOMORROW!!
We were so happy to have the exchange with Yanna and Vlassis. There home is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Everything was easy from the beginning in terms of correspondance and help planning the trip. Vlassis helped us work out the specifics for the ferry over to Kea and even had the Gardener pick us up at the ferry terminal to show us the way to the house. We spent the most relaxing week in Kea and fell in love with their cat Gigi Rigi. Upon our return to Germany, we were lucky to have the chance to meet and have dinner with the very happy couple, Yanna and Vlassis, who instantly seemed like friends. I would 100% recommend a home exchange anytime.
My house swap with Melanie and Bernd was fantastic! Not only is their place charming, extremely comfortable and well located, with easy access to downtown via bicycles, walking paths along the river front just across the road from their property, or near-by public bus stop, the charming, lively, animated town of Tubingen has much to offer. Here one can enjoy the restored Old Town, myriad beer gardens, sidewalk cafes, shops, bakery, pastry and ice-cream shops and rides down the river in a gondola-like river boat or paddle boat. As well, the civility, calmness, and tranquil pace of the people was very welcoming and the abundance of natural beauty that so readily merges with the town. A lovely combination! And everyone's so healthy and actively engaged in living in a positive manner. I can truly say that Germany is a place I want to return to and I highly recommend Tuebingen if one wants to escape from the frantic, big city scene. Julie Carlson Costa Rica
Melanie & Bernd We really enjoyed our vacation in your cheerful apartment in Tübingen We felt us almost - like home We have splended days - with perfect weather a couple of days cloudy and half a day with slightly rain- but all with comfortable temperatures. I think we dinnered out - half of time / and the other half in your well equippede kitchen For the first time we were visiting Freiburg (centrum) - a nice old town - like Tübingen but shall we speak from our hard - we will prefer Tübingen Smaller and cosy and easy to make a global overview - Friendly people and a lot of cafe life. Furthermore we spend a day in Stuttgart, nice town - Schloss Lichtenstein - exiting and very fairy tale look like Mercedes and Porche museum - interesting So what we are thinking for the last 8 days in your home and Tübingen - we can say it with two words GREAT & THANKS One more time It was our first time with home exchange - but we really enjoyed it best regards from Denmark Mijanne & Finn
We had a very nice time in the house of Melanie, Bernd and Sofie. Tuebingen is a very lovely city with charming little streets, a beautiful castle and nice little restaurants. The surroundings are also very nice, we visited lots of nice places in the neighbourhood and strolled alongside the neckar river in the hot summer evenings. The house had a nice view and is near the city center but still in a quiet part of the town. It was a very lovely holiday.
We had an absolutely lovely vacation at Patricia, Ben, Jomme & Sjors home. Communication with Patricia was easy and she happily answered all of our questions and left plenty of information and tips. The house was a perfect home base for seeing the island, doing bike trips of which they have many bikes of all sizes, spending lazy days at the beach or at their very comfortable house, and visiting local places such as the local vineyard and various children-friendly places. We enjoyed it so much that we've agreed that we definitely need to come back. Great place for families! Many thanks for wonderful memories. Melanie, Bernd & Sofie
