- Lorraine retired (2)
- Vic retired (5)
Greetings from Canada's Pacific Coast
Lorraine and Vic are both retired. Lorraine retired from a government job working with children. Vic is a writer, retired journalist and has also worked as a prospector in the central part of British Columbia. Lorraine also has wide volunteer interests. We are both active volunteers with several organizations, and were founding members of a group 15 years ago that helps children with AIDS in Africa. We have done a fair bit of travelling, often job-related, but now feel it is time to travel on our own without the confines of work. We hike, cycle and Vic in winter plays the game of curling, which is very popular in Canada. We are big baseball fans (Toronto Blue Jays). We speak some French, but not fluently. (Nous parlons un peu de francais.) Also a few words of Spanish. We have done several exchanges - four in eastern Canada, three in the USA, and Rome, Venice and Hong Kong. The photo below is from our Hong Kong exchange, a day trip we made to Macao. We also travelled three times to Africa, and visited Vietnam and Cambodia. We walked the Camino in Spain several years ago (about 800 kilometres).
