We are a family of five. Rachel is an integrative medical doctor who runs the Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine and Chi Center, where she and two-dozen other practitioners try to help their patients heal their body, mind, and spirit. Doug is a novelist whose books have been translated into 30-languages (The Lost Diary of Don Juan, Eye of the Whale) and the founder of Idea Architects (www.IdeaArchitects.com), a book and media development agency that helps visionary authors to create a wiser, healthier, and more just world. He has co-written books with Desmond Tutu and B.K.S. Iyengar as well as worked with scientists, politicians, and others. Our son, Jesse, is a 15-year-old young man who loves sports (water polo, swimming, volleyball) and music (plays guitar) and friends. Our daughters, Kayla and Eliana, are twin 10-year-olds who love reading, art, school, sports, and friends. We have two friendly, lovable cats, Bucket and Slate, who can stay or go to another house.
