We spent a week at Marthe´s and Philippes comfy, small but charming flat in Paris during our Easter break. Marthe and Philippe live right opposite the Buttes-Chaumont park - some Parisians call it the nicest park in Paris, and indeed it`s great. It has trendy cafes, pony riding for kids and a little stream where our 3 kids aged 2-8 played happily. The area they live in in 19th arrondissement is lively, international and authentic, a non-tourist place with charming, colorful shops (cheese!) and cafés. Public transport is nearby, easy to find and takes you anywhere. The fantastic science museum "Cité des sciences" is in walking distance along the canal (half an hour, nice walk!). Near their house you can walk up some steps and you find a fantastic view over Paris (sacre coeur and even a glimpse of tour d´eiffel) -and urban gardening. Marthe, Philippe and their daughters Lucile and Naé were nice and easy to communicate with and left our flat in Berlin in very good condition. They gave us some great ideas what to do in their area -we tried almost all of it! We recommend this family for a laid back, authentic and charming Paris experience. Merci, Marthe and Phillipe!
