My family of three had a fantastic time in Amsterdam. Alice & Tim left great information about where to go and where to eat. Their home is set off the road, with a large interior park-like environment - it was lovely and calm. The bus/tram stops right across the street, and Amsterdam's public transport is cheap and easy to figure out, although there was much to see by foot as well. Their home is very quiet and comfortable, and their neighbors are friendly and fun to chat with. The local brewery is just around the corner under a windmill and was a frequent stop for us. Tim helpfully kept in touch with us during the exchange over email. I can fully recommend this exchange. You won't be disappointed. And, if you are lucky, you will meet their cat Mr. Tiddles. He loves new people.
We, a family of four, had a fantastic time in Santa Cruz and loved the beautiful home of Christy and Blaine. Their home is located in a pretty and quiet part of Santa Cruz with friendly neighbors. The house is very comfortable and welcoming and has a very nice garden area with a view over a park by the woods. We loved staying there. Christy made us feel very welcome and left useful information about the house and the area. Santa Cruz is a charming laid-back town and a great base for exploring (North-) California. Sights like San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur are easy to reach. But Santa Cruz itself offers a lot, of course the beautiful beaches for surfing. We fully recommend this exchange!
