- Heather Teacher (53)
- Michael Teacher (52)
G'day from the Gold Coast!!
Heather and Michael (in our early 50s) are retiring from teaching this year. We have grown up children (22 & 25) and they don't travel with us!! We've lived and travelled overseas many, many times (35 countries so far) and love to settle into life and explore the people and places we go to. We've made many friends on our travels and regularly travel to catch up with them. We swapped for a year in Cardiff (Wales) some years ago and could have easily stayed. We are happy to do longer swaps so don't be afraid to offer!
We will treat your home with utmost care and respect, and we expect the same in return! We like to think of ourselves as "domestic gods"...when you arrive at our home you'll see why.
We're open to swapping anywhere in the world, at any time. The Gold Coast is never cold (Winter is 14-24 degrees celsius) so don't be afraid to visit in the northern hemisphere summer...you won't freeze. We look forward to hearing from any interested "swappers" and will consider swaps at any time of the year.
May 10 — October 18, 2015 These dates are flexible
We're planning on heading to Canada and the East Coast of USA again in 2015. We would consider anywhere from Quebec to Miami.
June 1 — August 22, 2015 These dates are flexible
We're on the east coast of USA for 6 months and would love to fly over and have a look at Iceland in the middle of our trip.
May 1 — September 1, 2015 These dates are flexible
We would love to see more of Germany. We've only cruised the rivers and like the idea of staying in one of the major cities for a while.
June 1 — September 1, 2015 These dates are flexible
Naples and the Amalfi Coast are on our to do list.
Kite surfing anywhere in the world is a passion. So far I've done Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. If there's an onshore breeze nearby....let me know!
We started our Australian tour with an exchange with Michael and Heather in their beautiful Gold Coast Apartment. When we arrived we were quite tired from Planes, Trains and Automobiles but we forgot our fatigue when we walked into their building. It was fantastic and the Apartment better than described! We absolutely loved it! The building had a lovely pool and gym. It was walking distance to good restaurants, coffee bars and even a pub. Across the street is the Broadwater with always something going on with kite surfers, sailboarders. a kids park and walking/biking trail. The Apartment was large, immaculate and well laid out. There are large decks with an eating area which looks out over the water. We spent a lot of time there. We would highly recommend it if you like the Gold Coast.
