Greetings from Stockholm.
We are a couple who are working in the theater, Andreas 42 years and Josefin 31 years, Andreas 16 year old son Leo and our daughter Mira born in september 2013. Andreas have a dutch father and have spend a lot of time in The Netherlands. His dutch family lives in Amsterdam and Gouda. We joined this network to get the opportunity to spend a longer time in the Netherlands without having to stay with Andreas family. You know, seeing your family is great but to live with them for weeks can sometimes be a bit to much. That has worked out very well and we found out that we really love this way of travel. We have done five exchanges so far, all of them with the Netherlands or Belgium, and we liked them all very much. We will keep coming back to the dutch-speaking area and are always looking for these exchanges, but we are also curious about making exchanges outside our immediate comfort zone. So if you want to come to Stockholm don't hesitate to ask us. Send emails in English or Dutch and we'll get back to you soon. Tot ziens/ See you Andreas, Josefin, Leo and Mira.
June 27 — July 31, 2016 These dates are flexible
We mostly travelling without car so good public transports are very important to us. If it´s possible we will appreciate if we can exchange bicycles as well.
This was our first exchange and it was a great one! Stockholm is a very nice city to stay in during summer! It has many small beaches and parks in the city and it is child friendly in many ways! Andreas’and Josefin’s house was just lovely and full of character! We felt immediately at home! They left a great welcome letter with lots of information about the house and the city. Andreas’ friendly sister welcomed us to the apartment. From our neighbours at home we only heard great stories about the friendly exchange family in our house. They treater our house with great respect and left it tidy and clean. We had a great time in Stockholm and highly recommend others to exchange with them! Great family, great place, great city!
We enjoyed a lot our stay in the house of Andreas, Josefin and family. The house is convenient. It has a lovely "vintage" decoration, furniture from designers, ... Andreas and Josefin were very easy to reach, provided us with lots of written information on what to do and visit in Stockholm and about the house. We had a nice opportunity to see each others at the end of the stay. Stockholm has a lot to offer as well. The city can be easily reached with the Subway or the commuter train. We loved the Vasa boat, the nice buidlings from the begining of the 20th century, as well as more modern museums. Our house has been kept in perfect state. A destination definitly to advice!
We had a great time in Pierre-Philippe and Paules lovely and spacious home. We got to meat the spring in a warm and sunny Brussels in April. Very nice after a long winter for frozen Scandinavians. The contact with them was very nice and easy. They gave us a lot of information about what to do and where to go in Brussels and elsewhere in Belgium. Brussels has a lot to offer and is also very well connected with rest of Belgium and Europe by train. We went to the lovely town Gent (40 min with train) and to the sea in Oostende (1 hour 20 min) during our stay. We also had a chance to met each other at the airport on our way home. They kept our house in excellent condition. I would really recommend to exchange with this nice family.
Josefin, Andreas and Mira gave us a warm welcome in their cosy house. It breathes music, both in albums and cd's, as in music instruments (mostly guitars). The house is comfortable and situated in a cosy neighbourhood in Färsta. At cycling distance, there are playgrounds, supermarkets and some places to eat. Josefin and Andreas have three bikes you can choose from: a cargo bike, a racing bike and a lady bike. If you want to go to Stockholm, you can take the subway (there are two stations at 1 km from the house), which wil take you downtown in 20 minutes. We had a very good time in Färsta and Stockholm, and we can only recommend swapping with Josefin and Andreas!
We had a great stay in Tom and Veerles house in Mechelen. The house is very big and has a lot of toys and other things for your kids. Our daughter loved it very much and called the house home almost right away . The trampoline in the backyard, the toys in the old fireplace, the bedrooms and the then the extra play space all the way upstairs on the third floor. Your kids will love it. If your in to cooking you will love the big restaurant like kitchen. If your into vintage furniture you will be impressed. An exiting place. The city of Mechelen is a very nice small Flemish town where it is nice to be and has quit a lot to see. The house is very close to the railway station so the rest of Belgium is just around the corner. We can highly recommend a swap with this family.
We spend a week in the lovely house of Andreas, Josefin, Leo and Mira. We felt very welcome in their beautiful house. We especially loved the extraordinary furniture and well maintained kitchen equipment (knives!). We liked Farsta, the suburb where the house is situated. It's very much like the Utrecht suburb we live in our selves. We likes the fact of living in between the ordinary Swedish families instead of all the tourists in the hotels. The more city like areas are well attainable ij subway. We appreciated the fact that Andreas Josefin put some effort in telling us where the real good spots of the city were, especially those near Farsta and the non-touristy ones. All in all, highly recommended for an exchange (both the house and the family:-))
We had a great stay in Michiel and Elisabeths nice house in Utrecht. The house is perfect for a family with kids with lots of toys and whatever you need. There are a few big grocery shops very nearby easily reached with the provided bicycles. Also a very good playground with a animal farm within a couple of hundred meters. The city very nice city of Utrecht can be reached by bus just outside doorstep. From Utrecht you can very easy go to the rest of the Netherlands. Michiel and Elisabeth is very helpful people and contact with them was always easy . They did treat our home with great respect and we found it in perfect shape when we got home.
