We visited Gail and Larry's home this past fall (2013) and had a wonderful stay. They were very accommodating and gracious hosts. Their home was very well located-- walking distance to the main shopping area in Old Town, to the Potomac, and around the corner from a great market (Balducci's). The home was plenty spacious for our family of four, very clean, very comfortable-- (we loved sitting in the comfortably family room overlooking their garden after a long day of sight-seeing in D.C.)- and met all our needs. Gail and Larry made everything very accessible and easy to find, had an informative folder for visitors with all kinds of helpful information, and were very flexible with our schedule. This was a non-simultaneous exchange. We would definitely do it again!

We traveled back to our native Washing DC for a family reunion and had the good fortune to complete an exchange with Gail and Larry, who are most gracious hosts. The house was immaculate and we were welcomed by fresh flowers on the kitchen island. This is the perfect Old Town townhouse. It was a joy to be able to walk everywhere, to find the Wash. Post at our door every morning, to sit in the garden and read the paper with a cup of coffee and listen to the birds sing. It couldn't have been nicer!

This beautiful and comfortable home was only a few blocks away from Kings Street in Alexandria and easily accessible to the Metro into DC. Ideally situated for exploring Alexandria and the Capital by walking or biking, we found so many quirky and unusual places that we wouldn't have found had we driven, although we did have use of their car. Everywhere was extremely clean, no rubbish or graffiti seen anywhere, and we felt extremely safe even walking at night. People were extremely friendly and helpful, even the trolley drivers who must get fed up with tourists greeted us with a smile and friendly comments . Food shopping was located within one or two blocks away and the restaurants of which there were so many to choose from were all along Kings Street. We were lucky enough to meet with Gail and Larry twice, they are very experienced travellers, a great couple and easy to get along with. We would highly recommend anyone wanting a DC exchange to consider this property.

What we said about Christine's house:

Christine and Colin made our visit to their charming village so easy. They sent us lots of good information on the sites to visit before we arrived. They picked us up at the train station and we had a great dinner together before they departed - such a fun couple! Their home is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and has a brand new kitchen. We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing exchange, with lots to explore in Bury St. Edmond and Cambridge. Plus there is an inexpensive bus from their village to London for your return!
