Cecelia from San Luis Obispo said

Everything the description says about the house is true - it's a great user-friendly house sitting on a fabulous piece of land that is hard to leave even for the great city pleasures at your fingertips. Jonathan and Jana left nothing to be desired in an exchange - they left their house in great shape for us and in turn were very considerate with my house and took wonderful care of my pets. Jonathan even went out of his way to obtain baseball tickets from a friend of us to send to us! Would exchange with them again in a heartbeat.

What we said about Cecelia's house:

The house is in a new subdivision and is very well-kept. Cecelia is a superb decorator. You can literally bicycle to a number of wineries and if we didn't have our three children with us, we would have done so. Driving to either Pismo Beach or Avila beach is a snap: takes less than 20 minutes. If you agree to take care of the owner's pets, you will not feel burdened at all. The dog and two cats were very well-behaved and did not demand our constant attention. Cecelia is a gracious hostess and the whole experience was first rate. - Jon and Jana of California, USA

Jonathan and Jana and their boys were wonderful: they were very considerate, took good care of our home and car and were available and helpful when we had questions during the exchange. We had a great time at their beautiful, comfortable home with stunning forest and water views and easy access to East Bay activities. Our generous hosts left us Cal basketball tickets and a bottle of wine, recommendations about the area, plus lots of toys our kids enjoyed and a great entertainment system. Our favorite part was waking up in the morning and being able to walk out the back door and quickly be on a trail deep in the redwood forest, which is right behind the house. We saw deer and lots of birds. It was peaceful and the views were incredible. The swing in their front yard was lots of fun. Oakland has great restaurants, museums, shopping and family activities. Our children liked the Little Farm in Tilden Park. We enjoyed a night at Yoshi's jazz club and visited Oakland Chinatown for dim sum. This exchange was a very positive experience, and we enjoyed a nice blend of nature and city activities. Thank you Jana and Jonathan!

What we said about shira's house:

Shira, Jason and their children are great exchangers. They treated our home and automobile with care and respect and communicated well during the entire process. Their house is a great blend of old and new. The living and dining rooms are older, intimate, and feature beautiful box wood ceilings. You can see them in some of their pictures. The great room, downstairs bathroom, and rear yard/patio have the best of the new and are also excellent places to be. Jana's favorite place was the window seat and Jonathan's was the great room watching the little ones play with all the new toys. The home location not only gives the visitor easy access to the classic 'touristy' areas of San Diego, but also gives you an introduction into the local way of life. Shira and Jason left a list of local spots (restaurants, etc.) for us to check out and all the suggestions were great. We especially liked 'Cafe on Park.' We would definitely exchange with this nice family again. Good luck on all of your exchanges, - Jonathan, Jana, and the boys from Oakland.

Suzie from London said

The location of Jonathan and Jana's home is fantastic. With their rear yard backing on to woodland, the bed in the master bedroom is ideally placed for waking up to the local wildlife - we came across goats, deer and some beautiful birds. Their home is well placed for getting into the city as well as a great base from which to explore the Bay area. Jonathan made a great effort to secure tickets for the San Francisco Giants baseball game for our entire family. It was a great experience to feel a true San Franciscan! We also enjoyed driving Jonathan and Jana's car - spacious and comfortable, it was perfect for our longer trips to Yosemite and Big Sur. Jonathan and Jana made every effort to give us helpful information about the immediate area and useful suggestions about where to visit nearby - many of which we undertook and enjoyed enormously. They also kindly arranged for us to have a mini membership of their tennis club, where we spent a couple of sunny days lounging by the pool, enjoying the fabulous views and watching the local tennis players. This was our first exchange - thank you Jonathan and Jana for making it such a memorable experience!

What we said about Suzie's house:

Michael, Suzie and their family are great exchangers. Their home in London is very nice and has a terrific rear yard. Per the terms of our exchange, our entire family arrived in London the day before Michael and Suzie's family departed for Oakland. They were warm and accommodating and insisted that our entire family stay the night with their entire family. After some good Indian take away and a couple of bottles of wine, we were busy recreating the Brady Bunch. Their boy Alexander, despite being much older than our oldest boy Jackson, was generous with his time and made Jackson feel welcome. They took excellent care of our home and car and we are sure they would do the same with yours. You will not be disappointed if you exchange homes with this great family. Best wishes on all of your exchanges, - Jonathan, Jana and the boys of Oakland, California.

Kim from San Juan Capistrano said

Jonathan and Jana were gracious and generous hosts. Their home is located high in the Oakland hills with a spectacular view. Jonathan's description of the house and location are spot on. We were lucky enough to experience both the red hawks and the annual goat herd. We appreciated the recommendations for activities in the area and followed their suggestions in many cases.
