What a glorious exchange this is! A fabulous home... one really doesn't want to leave for any length of time. And the owners are the best. I would return in a heartbeat. Don't miss the opportunity.
Betty Lou's home is spacious and well-kept, with lovely views of the hills north of Santa Fe. It had all the amenities we wanted - even an empty garage for our car, The owner, Betty Lou, is lovely and when we returned home we could not tell she had been here. There were no problems at either end. All-in-all, a very successful trade which we would recommend to others.
Upon entering this beautiful home with the incredible views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains you are instantly relaxed. Betty Lou is an outstanding hostess. She is a wealth of information on what to see and do in the area. Plus, the surrounding sights. Could go on and on. She should be the Santa Fe ambassador! I have been twice to this home and still want to return again and again.Amenities are numerous, location is perfect! Definitely one of our favorites. A five star experience.
Half a year ago, during a too-short visit to Santa Fe, we met Betty Lou in the gift shop of the Fine Arts Museum. Lucky day! She told us about HomeExchange, and we immediately started planning our first exchange with her. From the beginning of the exchange process, you will become friends with Betty Lou. She is an enthusiastic promoter of all things Santa Fe. (And she is also eager to learn about the places she visits.) Her house is only minutes away from the center of Santa Fe, but a world away from city noise and commotion! We loved sitting on the deck, watching the mountains and sipping our favorite beverages. Pooh The Cat seemed to tolerate us reasonably well, as long as we followed her instructions about when she wanted to be fed! We hired the services of Betty Lou’s housecleaner so we could leave early to watch hot air balloons on our way to the airport. It’s wonderful to have someone who will clean on the weekends! When we returned home, our house was in excellent condition. The only evidence that someone had been here for a week was her gracious thank you.
Betty Lou's home is spectacular, in an ideal neighborhood and location for visiting and enjoying all that Santa Fe has to offer. We loved our stay here, and thoroughly enjoyed our chats and interaction with Betty Lou. We went to the opera, visited pueblos to the north, explored downtown Santa Fe, hiked spectacular park trails with fine archaeological interest, and ran in nearby (less than 10 minutes) off-road trail systems. We couldn't have imagined a better home base for this vacation! Highly recommended.
