The stay in Sharon and John's beautiful and confortable house ...

Manuel
Manuel from Brussels said

The stay in Sharon and John's beautiful and confortable house was perfect. Public transport is definitely the best option to visit Melbourne and their home is very conveniently placed to catch a tram and hit the town in a confortable way. Meeting them and Bridget was a real pleasure. Melbourne was delightful. Some ideas: fresh oysters from Victoria Market, a long walk at the Botanical Gardens, the reading room of the State Library, Coop's shot Tower at Central Station, a beer at Chloe's room at Young and Jacksons, tram to St Kilda.

What we said about Manuel's house:

We had a wonderful time during our brief stay in Manuel’s apartment in Brussels. The delightful apartment is extremely comfortable and in a very quiet area; it was perfect for the three of us. The lovely location is close to park-lands, and a short tram and train ride to the City. Manuel had prepared for our arrival by leaving maps and brochures as well as some travel passes. He had also written instructions, had equipment manuals available if necessary and had even showed us over the apartment on Skype before we left home. On our arrival home to Melbourne, we found our home clean tidy and well looked after. Meeting Manuel and Ken a few days later was an unexpected bonus. It was a pleasure and a wonderful experience to do the exchange with Manuel and we were very pleased with the entire home-exchange outcome.

During ten days, we enjoy the house of Sharon and her family. The house is very convenient and confortable. Everything was very well organized for our stay. Our host provides everything we need for our baby, transports and visits. It was very easy to reach downtown thank to the tramway which is 5 minutes walk. Every shops were very closed as well. We'll keep beautiful memory from our stay in Melbourne. Once we came back in Maisons Laffitte, our home was perfect! Thanks to Sharon, Paul and Bridget.

What we said about Elodie Tom and Fabrice's house:

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Elodie and Fabrice’s apartment in Maisons-Laffitte. Their delightful apartment is comfortable and in a very quiet area; it was great for the three of us. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the shops and the railway station, and a train ride on the RER takes you into the centre of Paris. The trains are speedy and frequent. The local shops are of a very high standard – especially the patisseries, the Epicerie de Longueil and the restaurants. There is also a local market for fresh produce. Maisions-Laffitte is a wonderful location with an incredible chateau and precedent-setting town-planning; it has splendid period homes and wonderful park-lands on the banks of the Seine. Elodie went to some trouble to ensure that our stay would be comfortable and stress-free; and on our arrival home in Melbourne, we found our home clean tidy and well looked after. It was a pleasure and a wonderful experience to do the exchange with Elodie, Fabrice + Tom; we were very pleased with the entire home-exchange outcome.

We had the pleasure of staying in Sharon & John's home for ten days. Their home is a cosy character filled bungalow that provided everything we needed for our stay. Their location also has the added bonus of excellent public transport links to the city. We utilised the tram stop at the end of their street which took us to the centre of Melbourne in half an hour even during peak periods. They kindly offered us their car but the public transport links provided a good solution for us. We looked after "Truffle" their dog who was no trouble and allowed us to explore the parks etc. during his walks. There's also many good restaurants & coffee shops to explore in their suburb and a good club for bistro dining 50 metres from their home which has the most amazing views of the Melbourne skyline. We would recommend a swap with Sharon & John as they were very friendly, accommodating and left our home immaculately clean.

What we said about Maxine and Tony's house:

Our stay at Maxine and Tony’s home in July 2015 was a delight; their spacious and beautiful new house simply has every convenience – it was a pity that it was not warm enough to test the swimming pool! The view from the back of the house was fabulous – looking across wetlands towards the mountains, the sunsets were superb, with large flocks of Ibis flying in formation to complete the view. The Hunter Valley wineries are in close proximity, as is the historic village of Morpeth and the City of Newcastle. Port Stephens is an easy drive; and we found that all four destinations were well worth visiting. Sydney is a train ride away, with fabulous scenery along the way. Maxine and Tony kindly loaned us their car (with satellite navigation) during our stay, so getting around was easy. We exchanged dogs – Gus was very friendly and well behaved; he was a delight to have with us. The walks to Rathluba Lagoon with Gus were one of our many highlights. On returning to our own home, everything was perfect; and our dog’s only complaint was that he didn’t go away on holiday too, but he was very well cared for by Tony and Maxine in our absence. Thank you Maxine and Tony for exchanging with us, we hope we can do it again some time.
