Welcome to vivid Amsterdam!
Our family consists of Martin (1969) and Aletta (1971), and two boys, Thijs and Wout, born in 2002 and 2005, respectively. We have a busy social life, with families and friends, mostly living in the same neighborhood. We enjoy our city Amsterdam, but also like to go out of town for a good hike. Martin is owner of a small software company (12 personnel) and Aletta is lawyer and part time professor at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Our sons love to play soccer, chess and playing on the Wii.
In our free time we love to take up our hobby Geocaching, which is becoming very popular around Amsterdam. There are more than 500 caches hidden in this area.
We enjoy homeexchange very much; we've already swapped houses in Norg (in the north of the Netherlands), Boulder (Colorado, USA), Berlin, Costa Rica, several times in France, and Ireland. We hope that many more will follow...!

Since a couple of years we love to search for geocaches by gps (geocaching, see www.geocaching.com). It brings us to the most beautiful and unexpected places.
We had a great stay in Koert and Kesia's house. They were very welcoming and even managed to pick us up from the airport in Denver. Before we left, we had a nice contact using e-mail and skype, so when we actually met it felt we already knew each other quite well. The house is cosy and comfortable and in a nice, quiet neighborhood in Boulder. Pretty close to the Rocky Mountain national park, where hiking is great. Also close - a three-minute bike ride - to a friendly recreation swimming pool, where our kids had a lot of fun in the late afternoons. Boulder is a great city; green, good food and restaurants, felt really safe there. We used the house as a starting point for several day trips and even a 5-day road trip to South Dakota, for which we could use Koert and Kesia's car. We loved our stay in their place!
