- Carol Retired
Welcome to Pacific Beach in San Diego
We are retired and in early 70s. We have had over thirty very enjoyable exchanges and hope to continue spending about half of our time traveling. This is a second home for us and we are flexible on the exchange times. Our home is very upscale and we are looking for a similar property. We are open to any exchange opportunities and dates.
January 1 — December 31, 2016
We are always interested in an exchange to NYC
July 25 — August 20, 2016 These dates are flexible
We would prefer a location near the Underground.
We enjoy these markets as a chance to meet local people and sample local foods as well as look for antiques.
We had a wonderful time at Jim and Carol's condo in San Diego. The apartment is beautifully furnished and appointed and ideally situated close to shops, transport etc with a lovely water view from the balcony. Jim and Carol were exceedingly helpful and made every effort to make our stay in San Diego an enjoyable one. We would highly recommend an exchange with Jim and Carol to anyone wanting to visit fabulous San Diego!
This was a very enjoyable and unique exchange. We were actually able to live in a rainforest for two weeks. Lorraine and Joes' home is very clean and quiet. It is located very well for going to Port Douglas, which we did three times, and points north. It is an easy drive to the city center for snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. They were easy to work with and left our home in perfect condition.
We enjoyed our stay very much and are happy to have met Carol and Jim.The apartment is spacious, clean and in great location. For relaxing at the Bay in front of the apartment or for more activities you go at the sea it's about 10 minutes walk! There's a lot to see and to do around:Shopping at the outlets,Visit the USS Midway Museum,Balboa park,Coronado Island and many more....
We exchanged with Louis and Bertrand for two weeks in July, 2013 and we really enjoyed the exchange. Their home is clean and comfortable with a nice outdoor patio for eating or drinking coffee. Their neighbors were especially helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the neighborhood with access to the river. You can drive to town in about 15 minutes or with a short drive and a bus trip. Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in North America with many historical sites. We took some interesting day trips. They left our home in perfect condition and we had a nice lunch with them and their friends in Montreal on the way home.
Staying at Jim and Carol"s delightful condo for our 34th exchange was a winner. What a location - right on the Bay. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony each morning watching the walkers, runners, bikers, paddle boarders warming up for their day in the San Diego sunshine. The walkway on the beach is a delight with many fun sights as we walked up to the happy hour and watched the children on the playground on the way. We toured the city, the Wild Animal Park - even found two hidden pedestrian bridges and loved all the healthy grocers nearby. One day we took the train to Santa Barbara for 2 nights in a B&B and another day we walked in the fields of flowers near Carlsbad up the beach. We spent considerable time in La Jolla at their delightful Contemporary Art Museum and found several yummy places for happy hour and light supper. Jim and Carol left a book filled with ideas for more fun. We definitely can recommend their charming place in the sun.
We spent a month at Bob and Joy's home in September, 2013. We enjoyed every minute of it. The condo has a 180 degree view of the bay from the living room, kitchen and one bedroom. The interior is very colorful and fun, nicely furnished with a big screen television. The building is modern and upscale and has a swimming pool, a small gym, a library and tea and coffee available in the lobby. There are nice restaurants nearby and we took several overnight side trips.
