You're in for a great stay here. IJburg is very quiet, has anything you need locally - some good restaurants just around the corner, grocery shops. Amsterdam doesn't need any explanation, it's just a very short ride with public transport from this island into the very center of the city. The house has nice high ceilings and is equipped with anything you need. It even has parking space! Not a common thing in Amsterdam. We just left our car there, the public transport is very frequent and fast. Enjoy IJburg!

What we said about Antoine's house:

Great family house, with a big and beautiful garden. We loved our stay here in the winter. The natural pool looked very tempting and the large garden must be fantastic in spring or summer. Even in december, our kids had good fun on the trampoline and playing in the garden. Inside the house plenty of toys are available. We had some very nice bikerides and hikes in the beautiful surrounding landscapes. Anja and Antoine provide lots of information on things to do, very helpful. All in all we look back on a very nice exchange and lovely stay in sevenum!

Our family completed a nearly 6 week exchange with Eric and Mieke this past summer. The exchange surpassed our expectations. We had excellent communications leading up to the trip. Upon arrival we were greeted to a wonderful home great for families. They have patio perfect for outdoor dining (see picture) and everything a family could want, from a foosball table to bicycles with kid carriers. The location can’t be beat. It’s a quick walk to the tram stop and a 15 minute ride into central station. IJburg itself is a stunning modern neighborhood. Everything is a short walk or bike ride away, from coffee shops and markets to great local beaches! We can’t recommend their home enough. After a day exploring historical fast-paced Amsterdam, it’s nice to come home to the easy living of IJburg. Plus, we were able to meet Eric and Mieke at the end of the trip and they treated us to a fantastic barbecue. On our return home, it was as if we never left. Our home was well looked after, as was our at Holli! They are great people and will ensure you’ll have a wonderful exchange in lovely Amsterdam.

What we said about Stephen and Lea's house:

We exchanged houses with this lovely family in summer 2013 (Portland - Amsterdam). We exchanged for almost 6 weeks and including cars. We definitely had a lot of fun preparing for this exchange with lots emails back and forth, and excellent help from Stephen and Lea. When we arrived the fridge was filled for the first couple of days and they had prepared a great binder with a lot of useful information. A warm welcome. We had an overall wonderful experience in Portland, Oregon and California. Stephen & Lea own a fantastic and large house in a quiet neighborhood, not too far from downtown Portland and with all amenities, facilities and interesting places to visit close by. We could use basically all we needed, camp gear, bikes, etc.. The family is very friendly, helpful and are very easy to communicate with. At the end of our exchange we had a nice BBQ at our place and had a fun evening together sharing our experiences (see picture). I would definitely strongly recommend Portland and even more the lovely house and people behind this listing. All in all it was one of the best holidays for us ever.

We exchanged houses with Eric, Mieke, Bram and Jonas in late April and loved their house and Ijburg! This was the first time we visited the part of Amsterdam called Ijburg and it is nice, relaxing and "local" - no tourists :) Filled with nice family restaurants, playgrounds and the tram right at your door step. The house is big, bright and filled with toys :) we loved it! from the house you can walk into their small, cosy back garden and enjoy the sun and watch the kids playing with the neighbor kids - fantastic. When we arrived they had made us a welcoming basket with the most essential items - wine and 3 gifts for our kids - excellent start of a relaxing and joyful holiday. They have very nice and welcoming neighbor how where very helpful as well! If you want a relaxing holiday in the big city Amsterdam, this is the house :)

What we said about Torben's house:

We have had a wonderful exchange and a lovely stay in this house in Denmark in spring 2014. The house is located in a small village close to the (small) city of Viborg with some nice shops and restaurants, surrounded by hills, forest and fjords. The house is excellent; new, spacious, light, tidy and decorated with much taste. The kids have spent a lot of time on the trampoline and we were lucky enough to have some lovely evening dinners in the garden. We enjoyed long walks in the surrounding forest, rowing on the nearby lake and were able to visit Legoland from here (slightly over 1 hour drive). The family had left us with a nice food basket with regional products for us at our arrival. All in all, we can really recommend this house and the family behind it, with whom we had very pleasant contact both in preparation and during the stay.

We stayed in Eric and Mieke's house during the New Year Holiday. We had a great time there. We spent a few days visiting Amsterdam, the charming old city center and the famous museums. Everything was perfect from the day of our arrival when we found the little word on their door with our names on it, to the last day when we came back home, which was spotless and clean. We thank them very much for their hospitality, their presents left on our table and would highly recommend their house (only 15 minutes from central Amsterdam!) to other home-exchangers.

What we said about Jean-François and Sophie's house:

We have had a lovely holiday in the house of Jean-François and Sophie. The house is spacious and luxurious, and even has a fire place. It was wintertime, so unfortunately we did not use the big garden behind the house (which must be very nice in summer!). For us, this was a very good base to explore the cities of Lille (FR) and Gent (B), enjoy the local swimming pool, and even the Belgian coast (1 hour drive). Jean-François and Sophie – very kindly – arranged for food and local treats upon our arrival. Our house was well taken care of when we returned home. All in all a very good experience! Thanks again!
