Flagstaff Arizona is a perfect location to visit points out ...

Flagstaff Arizona is a perfect location to visit points out west, being only 1 hour from Sedona, and 90 minutes from the Grand Canyon. Cynthia's straw bale home was very close to Flagstaff town center, but in a residential area filled with Ponderosa pine. It was enchanting! As you enter there is a great room with a cathedral ceiling and a fireplace, and a master bedroom on the first floor and 2 more bedrooms upstairs, and 2 full bathrooms and a toilet off the great room. The backyard has a patio with an outdoor table and chairs, and a fish pond. Cynthia made us feel welcome and was very accommodating, she even relocated her cat as some of us are allergic. Beds had been made up for us, and Cynthia even had asked us what we'd like in the fridge!! We also had a car exchange and her car was perfect for exploring the Arizona countryside. Her partner Elson left bikes for us and for the kids, which we very much enjoyed. Overall I feel this was a very successful exchange and would whole-heartedly recommend Flagstaff, and Cynthia's straw bale house in particular, to anyone who'd like to explore Arizona and stay in a great community with terrific Home Exchange partners. To review Cynthia and Elson as guests in our house, they also get a great rating. They left the house clean and tidy, nothing was amiss, and they had washed the spare sheets and left the beds made, ready for us to tumble into after a long flight back to our home in Amsterdam. And, Elson fixed one of our spare bikes that wasn't riding very well! Thanks!!

What we said about Margaret's house:

Amsterdam is a lovely city with world renowned museums, wonderful restaurants, cozy neighborhood pubs, great public transportation and it is very bike friendly. Our exchange with Margaret and Theo Koppes included the home, car and 4 bikes. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood, right on a canal, which is viewable from balconies and large picture windows. All manner of boats move by making a ever changing panorama. The Koppes home is modern, with top of the line appliances and very well decorated. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, two with large beds, one with a twin. The upstairs full bath is large, with grey stone walk in shower, a huge tub and a washer and dryer. Very luxurious. The downstairs is a kitchen, a large dining room and a large living room both of which overlook the canal. The Koppes were excellent exchange partners. Their home is lovely, comfortable and located close to expansive parks and museums. They left the home ready for our arrival, with food in the refrigerator, a lovely bouquet and a bottle of wine. On return to our home, we found it clean and ready for our arrival. If you are interested in visiting an historic city with a lively nightlife and unsurpassed museums, I recommend exchange with the Koppes family.
