Jesper's an entusiatic cook who loves to cook food in new ways like 'sous vide'. Hannah loves to create new clothes sewing or knitting. Mikkel plays football (soccer) in the local club and Sif plays a lot of theatre. All our children are very wellbehaved, open minded and responsible. We all love sport and outdoor activities and mostly we spend our vacations in nice nature / good hiking areas.
We are open minded and decent people loving this more personal and interesting type of vacation.
March 1 — September 30, 2015 These dates are flexible
Summer 2015 we'll build a large terrace with direct descent to the garden. Therefore no exchanges this summer. Autumn 2015 or 2016 we're ready again
We love hiking, and do this every day. We also love to meet new people and think home exchange is the perfect setup for this. We are passionated about cooking and enjoy cooking using local products.
This was a comfortable, beautiful home, and a wonderful family! Hellerup is a very nice suburb of Copenhagen. We love the houses, gardens full of fruit trees, quiet streets. It's perfect for biking; but it also has great access to public transportation. Unfortunately, we didn't meet the family in person, but they were very friendly and flexible in our communications. Our neighbors really enjoyed meeting them; even the kids are still asking about them a year later. :^)
We spent our best 3 weeks of vacation ever in this nice house summer 2007. We still miss all the nice neighbours and the fantastic surrounding. The view from the terrace towards Rocky Mountain foothills was fantastic. All the neighbours were very friendly - our children age 7 and 8 (in 2007) played with the other kids and we had wine etc. with 10-12 interesting and open minded adults. We had a lot of fantastic one-day and longer tours in the beatiful Rocky Mountains. We also enjoyed the local sport club and the nearby shopping mall. The Gillaspie family had taken really good care of our home, please don't hesitate from exchange with this family. We really hope we will get back to this neighbourhood some day - either for vacation or a longer stay.
This family is delightful and very experienced exchangers. Their home is well located in a lovely neighborhood close to everything in Copenhagen. It was also very comfortable. They did a great job of child proofing our home and took especially good care of our dogs, Chloe and Buddy. We kept in touch during the exchange and were able to address any questions. The transportation in Copenhagen is exceptional, but it is wise to plan ahead for trips outside the city.
We had a great summer vacation 2014 in California. Our first 2½ week we enjoyed in Jackie and Michael's house and garden. We shortly met the couple in their home. We had a lovely lunch with them before their departure to get instructions about the dogs etc. We felt very comfortable with them and had only good communication with each other during our exchange. The house is situated in a beautiful, clean and very quiet area, surrounded by beautiful mountains. A perfect base for hikes and other trips to Sonoma and Napa valleys. We also visited San Francisco, Bodega Bay, etc. The house is very spacious and cozy. On the large terrace, we spent many hours. We quickly became familiar with the family's two dogs Buddy and Chloe very and our daily walks with the dogs were cozy and a nice entrance to meet the neighbors. Our 4 years old son still sometimes talks about that he misses the dogs. And the weather in the area is lovely. Hot and dry from early spring to November – according to the locals.
