- Shelley Retired teacher (68)
- Clyde Retired architectural designer (74)
Hello from Seattle-
I am Shelley and I have retired from teaching. My husband Clyde is a self-employed architectural designer. In other words, he works when he gets a client and at his own pace. Now that I am free to go, we are looking to explore the country in a leisurely fashion and one location at a time.
I hold season tickets to the opera with a colleague, and Clyde and I are subscribers to three local theatres with friends. We like to dine out, occasionally something nice and pricey, but more often something small and reasonable. We like happy hours before the theatre, for instance.
We love film and we like to have friends or family over to enjoy movies on Netflix or DVD, so we have a big screen TV in the living room where about 8 people can comfortably watch TV together.
Clyde was a great outdoorsman and kayak enthusiast, We have a lot of artwork around the house, including some very wonderful stained glass windows. Clyde and I are are both interested in history and art, and when we travel we like to go to museums, interpretive centers, movies and theatre. We like parks and the outdoors, but are no longer great hikers or kayakers.
We have no pets because Clyde has a slight allergy to cats. He IS able to visit and stay in homes that have them. I love cats; not so crazy about dogs.
