We spent 3 lovely nights in Paul and Judy's wonderfully home in Dalkey Co Dublin. Their home is simply fabouslous and has everything you might require during your stay. The style and decor of the house is truely beautifully. The location is again great , just a two minute walk to the village centre which is buzzing with cafes, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Paul and Judy have a large folder of information on different activities and things to do in Dalkey and Dublin city centre. We visited the wonderfully Powerscount House and Gardens which is only 20 minutes away by car in Co Wicklow. If you are looking to spend some time in Dublin and are lucky enough to exchange with Paul and Judy then you will not be dissappointed.
We spent 3 great days in Nichola and John’s house in scenic Donegal. The house is beautiful and very spacious in a lovely setting with great views. The area is very peaceful and quiet, ideal for a relaxing break. We visited Glenveagh National Park which is only a few kilometers away, with its wonderful Castle and great walks. We also went to the Ards Forest Park and visited Glebe House and Gallery, home of artist Derek Hill. The house is also very close to the town of Letterkeny with its restaurants, shops and pubs. We were just sorry not to have had more time to explore the Donegal countryside which is truly spectacular.
My husband and I spend New Year's eve with 2 friends at Judy and Paul's place. We discovered the lovely village of Dalkey, with its traditional pubs and fish restaurants, walks along the sea, and were also able to visit Dublin, as the access is very easy. We were stunned by the house. All the rooms are even more beautiful than shown on the pictures. They smell good and are all finely decorated. The atmosphere is warm and everything is functional. Judy and Paul seem to be very experienced home exchangers : we felt at home, and we would have loved to stay longer. This is one of the most lovely houses I've seen and this stay in Dalkey definitely convinced me that home exchange is the best way to travel. Thank you, Judy and Paul!
My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Jennifer and Pierre to their charming apartment, where we spent five glorious days over new year. Their apartment is in a great area, full of shops, restaurants and the ever important bakery, conveniently situated just beside the apartment, which had the best baguette we have tasted in years, not to mention the pain au raisin! there is a choice of metros but we walked everywhere as the apartment is near all the important sites. This was our 19th exchange and I have to say Jennifer's information book is the best I have seen. Having lived in France for many years this was a memorable return to the city of lights. Anyone staying in Jennifer and Pierre's apartment will not be disappointed. Thanks so much Jennifer and Pierre for making this possible.
We've been to Judy's home in July, we found a very nice and comfortable house. The place, Dlakey, was a very quiet place, wonderfull for having littles promenades, but still very well connected to Dublin (less then 15 minutes by train). Judy and his husband had been very nice and thoughtfull with us, leaving us maps and everything we could use for having a wonderfull time in Ireland. We hope to be able to host them (and be hosted back) again soon. Clara, Massimo and Lorenzo
We had the pleasure of staying in Clara's lovely home last September. Its situated in a great location, furnished with taste and has all you need to enjoy your stay. Clara was there to meet us and provided us with all we needed for breakfast the next day, including her home made jams. The apartment is near all the historic sights and is surrounded by restaurants, it was very quiet and comfortable. Thank you Clara for making our Rome trip so memorable. Judy and Paul.
