Hello/Bonjour from Montreal!
Howard is a Montrealer who retired from business and now works as an author/columnist specializing in language issues. Carol was born in England and lived in France before settling in Montreal; she's a retired college professor now working as a translator/editor. We have traveled widely and love discovering new people and places. A responsible couple, we assure you that your home will be cared for as if our own.
With our bilingual background (French - English), we would be happy to receive and provide information in either language. We look forward to hearing from you!
June 15 — June 29, 2015
We are looking for a one-week stay in Vancouver/Vancouver Island between 15-29 June, 2015. However, a stay June 15-22 would have to be non- simultaneous as our home is only available from June 22-29. (The world famous Montreal Jazz Festival will be on the last week in June - a great time to be in the city.)
We love to explore different environments, especially if they offer opportunities to try out new cuisines and/or wines.
Having never been to Quebec before, my wife and I, together with my parents were very excited to receive Howard and Carol's exchange request. The home is set in an ideal location in one of Montreal's most sought after neighborhoods. As avid cyclists, we brought our bikes along and were glad we did, with so many bike paths through the city, Mont Royal park, and along the canals and waterways - definitely the best way to see the city. Of course, being in Westmount means you must climb a hill to get back home, but that just made the selecting a dining destination even more satisfying. The home has everything you need including high speed wifi throughout. If you are looking for a strategically positioned home in Montreal that is on the edge of downtown, but at the same time backs on to Mont Royal park, I highly recommend. Thank you Howard and Carol for providing this opportunity for our family visit.
