The locals call this paradise!!
We are retired (investments and photographer/horticulture) but are busier than ever. We are both avid golfers. Nancy, originally from Hershey, Pa., has lived in South Carolina 39 years and enjoys, golf, genealogy, and is a master gardener. Gene was born in Manhatten, a graduate of UNC ( the other Carolina) and lived most of his adult life in the Chicago area. He is back taking piano lessons and loves the opera, the New York Times and Bruce Hornsby. He teaches a course on the mental side of golf and the short game at the local Osher OLLI adult education center. We are now taking shag dancing lessons. Be aware that cats have been inside our home if you have allergies. The carriage house is a cat free zone. The cats can elsewhere during exchanges. On occasion we may travel with another golfing couple or our adult children.
Thanks to Nancy and Gene for an amazing exchange! We loved Nancy's house, very comfortable for the 4 of us, especially loved morning coffee on the screened back porch overlooking her lovely garden and the golf course. It is well situated in a quiet cul de sac, but close to a ridiculous number of golf courses and the beach. Pawley's Island and Litchfield is a must see! Thanks to Gene and Nancy we had beach passes (miles of beautiful ocean beach), a list of great local restaurants (Pawley's Island Tavern..,) and tips on golf passes and the best courses. We were taken with the local history, the Boardwalk at Murrells Inlet and Brookgreen Gardens and would definitely love to return to the area. We would not hesitate to recommend an exchange with Nancy and Gene, they are generous, kind and most welcoming. Just an excellent exchange vacation!
This was a great exchange!! It was our first trip to Vancouver and we loved it! Karen thought of every thing- she is a veteran exchanger. Her home is very comfortable and very convenient - a block from a grocery store, 3 blocks to the metro and a 10 minute walk to a variety of good restaurants. We found the nearby Queen Elizabeth Park and the Van Duesen Gardens, another short walk away, to be just lovely. Karen compiled a helpful list of places to visit ,favorite restaurants and the top 6 places to see the famous Vancouver sunsets!! This was an A+ exchange!
Nancy and Gene were wonderful exchange partners- very patient with us as I had so many questions! Their home is beautiful and charming and really set up for guests to feel at home. My husband played 6 different golf courses, we enjoyed the beach and facilities at Litchfield, and the locally owned restaurants and shopping were delightful. There is something for everyone to enjoy @ Pawley's Island!
So enjoyed our exchange in Vegas. Good location for our needs: playing golf and visiting daughters. The neighborhood is close, walking distance to shops, grocery, Starbucks, etc. Easy access to the strip is 10 minute drive. Home is lovely and comfortable. Becky and Jeff were great about keeping in touch and the exchange was smooth. Thanks for a great vacation
