August 1 — September 25, 2016 These dates are flexible

We already have an exchange in Montreal and are seeking an exchange for one or two weeks in Quebec. We are happy to do non-simultaneous exchange or a hospitality exchange so that we all get the benefit of sunny weather. This type of exchange would suit someone who is travelling to different areas within Australia - the Gold Coast is always a good place to end up in before taking off for home.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our home exchange with David and Chris. All communication leading up to the exchange went smoothly and the home was beautifully prepared ready for our stay. David and Chris had left maps and tourist brochures for our use. Their home is very modern and well-equipped, also well-situated in a lovely northern part of Gold Coast, a stone's throw from the Broadwater. It was only a short stroll to a quaint shopping precinct with lovely restaurants, a good deli, a supermarket, a newsagency, a liquor store, a pharmacy, etc (all basic needs covered). Other shopping centres along the Gold Coast are close by and are easily accessible by car or public transport. There is no shortage of activities to do on the Gold Coast. Theme parks (very close by), exploring the hinterland around Mt Tambourine and beyond, water activities (Dave & Chris have a kayak you can paddle in the Broadwater), golf, shopping, dining out, Surfers Paradise...the list is endless. Dave and Chris were extremely hospitable and great people to exchange with. They left our home spotless after their stay. Brian & Sally (Launceston)

We experienced a very successful exchange with Chris and David. We were lucky enough to meet them as our flight to Australia left after their arrival. The planning and coordination of the exchange was easy and stress free. We arrived at Chris and David's home from a late flight and they had thoughtfully left welcome refreshments ready for our arrival. Their home is a modern, spacious, well equipped, beautifully presented home close to the water, Paradise Point shopping centre, cafes and parks. We enjoyed an early morning stroll along the boardwalk at the waters edge most days before breakfast. Chris and David have a kayak, beach and picnic equipment which we put to good use. We also exchanged cars which was easy and gave us the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. Chris and David had left a useful guide to day trips and lots of brochures to enable us to plan our days. Their home is only 15 minutes from the motorway and then only about an hour South to Byron Bay or North to Brisbane City. And of course the beautiful Gold Coast beaches are on their doorstep and the theme parks are very close by. We loved the Mt Tambourine shops especially the cookoo clock shop and little jewellers Belle Bijoux amongst others. We saw a snake show there too! Chris and Dave were great to exchange with an left our home and car spotlessly clean.

What we said about Kevin and Wendy 's house:

Wendy's apartment is very modern and only a stone's throw from the Pacific Ocean where you can see the huge cruise liners making their way in and out of Auckland Harbour. Quite a sight at night time when they are all lit up and there are binoculars you can use to get a close up view. Local shops are close by and, even better for us, the local lawn bowls club is only 3 minutes walk. They play mixed triples on Thursday and Saturday at 1pm - get there earlier to log in. Takapuna is a beautiful area and we really enjoyed driving around the local area looking at the gorgeous homes. You can reach Rotorua as well as the Bay of Islands within 3 hours and spend a couple of nights in a hotel to give you time to fossick about. It is also only 5 mins drive to the main state highway SH1 which is used to go either north or south. One of our favourite spots was Davenport, which is a charming village on the sea, only 10 mins drive from Takapuna. From there you can catch a ferry to Auckland city, as well as a few of the islands in the bay. The must see island is, of course, Waiheke and you can join a tour of the island, either the major sights or you could try a dedicated tour of some of the many wineries on the island. The apartment is very comfortable and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Auckland. In addition, Wendy and Kevin left our home spotless.
