Hi from Munich
I am Mathias, 56, Director of Cinematography and my wife Hilke, 50, works as Designer. Our children, two boys, are Vincent and Jasper, 17 and 13 years old. Both play basketball and tabletennis, Jasper is an expert in soccer and the two of them attend a Montessori school.
We enjoy cooking and having guests, we are interested in cinema, theater and art exhibitions, and as far as school and job allows us, we love travelling. Also gardening we see more and more as a relaxing activity.
We spent two great weeks at Hilke and Mathias’ house in Munich. They are a very friendly family. The house is big and comfortable, well equipped, and with a very nice garden full of flowers. It is wonderful to start the day eating breakfast in the garden table. The house is also very well situated nearby a beautiful Park (Ostpark) and only 6 km from Munich old town center. You can cycle (it’s great to see so many people cycling!) or walk there easily. Munich is a very lively and green city. It is also great to make day trips to historical sites, castles, charming old towns, the Bavarian Alps and lakes. It is indeed a great place to people, like ourselves, who appreciate Nature and enjoy outdoor activities, like hiking or swimming.
We had a wonderful time at the house of Carla and Júlio. Their home is quite large and has many comfortable corners spread over 3 floors. It is very well located between the city of Lisbon and a variety of beaches. It is a rather quiet place with view, not far from the station to go by train or from the highway to take the car to Lisbon, you can even cycle to go downtown. A highlight for families with kids and teens is the wide basement room with a workout corner, table tennis, guitar and gaming computer - if you can't motivate them for sightseeing they can spend hours in the basement! The communication with Carla and her family was perfect, they provided us with helpful advice and everything we needed.
