We have the travel bug!
Allison is an attorney, David is a teacher and writer. We're from San Francisco, but have lived in Asia (Hong Kong (2), Shanghai(4) and Singapore (1)) for nearly 7 years now. We love reading, writing, running, scuba, cooking, and travel of course! Our two boys, Kai (7) and Keegan (6) are so much fun that's it's not even fair! They love dinosaurs, trains, and dinosaurs on trains. And then there is soccer, and swimming, and skiing and .... Other interests include coloring, helping Mommy and Daddy cook, and eating cookies. We're ALL working on our Mandarin Chinese...

We want to go to Jazz Fest 2016!
We love to explore. Our children have grown up packing a bag, hopping on a plane and exploring new places! We all love to be outdoors, especially swimming and skiing!
My family (my wife, three kids, and I) did a simultaneous exchange with Allison and David, staying at their three-bedroom home in an ex-patriate community in the Hongqiao neighborhood of Shanghai. We were very pleased. We met Allison and David and their kids in New York, before we headed to the airport for the flight to China, and they are a nice family. They took great care of our place while we were gone. As for their home in Shanghai, it is a very comfortable house in a very pretty gated community. The bedrooms and living areas were comfortable, and we made good use of the kitchen, laundry, and backyard trampoline. The community has its own little central office, with a small store and large security detail, as well as a gym, a pool, and, outside, a jogging path. The staff speaks enough English to make communication a non-problem. We hired the family's driver for our stay, which made our visiting the central city at all times of day or night very easy. On the days we did not use their driver, getting around by public transportation was a good option, too. I'd highly recommend this home swap if you're interested in visiting Shanghai.
My family (my wife, two kids, and I) did a simultaneous exchange with Ilene and David, staying at their 5-bedroom home in Brooklyn. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet them before they left to go to our home and they were welcoming and very helpful in showing us their home. It is beautifully redone in Arts & Craft style and has every convenience you could want: internet, TV, DVD, background for the kids to run around! For us, the location was ideal, mere blocks away were amazing restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, Children's museum etc. The subway was close and easy to use which we did almost every day into Manhattan. Also, the new Barclay's stadium was within walking distance and we took advantage to see a Nets Basketball game and a Coldplay concert. I'd highly recommend this home swap if you're interested in visiting NYC.
