Arjaan from New York City
We are an expat family, with two small boys who speak fluently their parents' native tongues: Russian, and Dutch. In English they get by, and they will make it their own later! Mother Irina is a classical pianist, therefore our home is filled with music. And I own a publishing business. We are eager participants in all things art in this wonderful city: opera, music, theater...and will bring our children along whenever we can. The children are in school three times a week, the other two days they are home-taught. We stay away from television! On Thursday evenings the Metropolitan Museum of Art stays open late, and we often go there as a family. Summers we travel to Europe. Weekends we often escape to the country side. Our nearby oasis is Wavehil, a botanical garden overlooking the Hudson, which in addition offers art classes for children on the weekend.
