We spent Easter in Munich at Sigi and Murray's superb apartment. And we couldn't have wished for a better exchange premiere! The flat looks exactly as described and like you can see it on the pictures. The "Glockenbachquartier" is a charming neighbourhood with little shops, bakeries, restaurants and a large playground all at hand. One can reach the Sendlinger Tor, where the pedestrian area starts, in about ten minutes walk. We also took advantage of the family's bikes cycling along the river Isar (only two blocks away) to the zoo. Upon our arrival back home, our house was clean and tidy just like we'd left it. Thanks for a great long weekend!
We had a wonderful long Easter weekend at Vanessa's and Roger's house in Zurich. We really enjoyed staying in their cosy and beautiful home that looks exactly like it is shown on the pictures. The area they live in is a haven for families with children. Friesenberg is very central (only two stops away from the central station) but it feels like living in the countryside. The house is surrounded by gardens with fruit trees, tree houses and flowers. Only two streets away there is a big community centre with a really good adventure playground, farm animals and a cafe. Vanessa had emailed us a list of recommended places to go and visit or eat out. This list was very helpful and it made us look forward to our first home exchange even more. Although Vanessa and Roger were complete strangers they made us feel like friends. Upon our arrival our home was clean and tidy. Thank you for an excellent experience and for making us feel welcome and at home.
We couldn't find someone better for our first exchange. Uncomplicated, friendly and very polite. Looked very careful for our home and even go to the doctor with our wounded cat 'Pünktchen'. We wondered if they stayed to whole time in a tent in our garten - cause the house was more cleanded up as the time we leaved :) Our time in Munich was perfect. There are so many caffee's, bavarian restaurants, indian restaurants and so on next to the home - we could made everything by foot in just 5 Minutes. Very calm house, next to the isar and the german museum. If possible we made the same exchange again (with better weather) Thanks for the great experience.
We returned from a truly wonderful home exchange with Steffen and Katja's house a few weeks ago. It was a perfect holiday in an idyllic surrounding and in a beautiful, clean and spacious house. We live in the city center of Munich and we enjoyed the nature and calmness of this home. The house looks just like it is shown on the pictures - it is even more cosy when you are there. The house is surrounded by friendly neighbours, fields, forests, lawns and farms. It has a great view and contains anything a family with children can wish for. Our children loved the toys, the hammocks in the garden, the sand pit, the little stream at the end of the garden, the tree house and the family cat Pünktchen. We went hiking through the woods, visited a nearby farm, looked at the sights of Königsfeld or took advantage of the family bikes. Steffen and Katja are very friendly, easy to talk to and reliable people. They made us feel welcome when we arrived and they left our house very tidy and clean. All in all it was a great experience exchanging our house with them and we hope we can do it again some time in the near future.
We greatly enjoyed our stay in Sigi and Murray's home and found them to be excellent guests in our own. Their flat is a splendid base for exploring Munich and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Our two young boys enjoyed the novelty of another family's toys, sleeping in bunks and, most of all, the chance to explore a new city. The neighbourhood is full of playparks, cafes and restaurants - with plenty to keep us occupied the moment we stepped outside. At other times we walked or cycled into the city centre or to nearby attractions, visiting the market, swimming pools, museums and parks. A particular highlight was the chance to head into the Alps on a fine day. All of this was made easy by the information and ideas provided by Sigi and Murray, who made great efforts to make sure we had a good holiday.
We had a wonderful week in London in Duncan and Sarah’s beautiful home. Their house is bright and stylish in a great neighborhood just across from a nice park with a pond, a big playground with a beautiful cafe, a stream, and various sport facilities. Just a little further away there is a nice pub with excellent food and more cafes and shops. A big Sainsbury's supermarket is just a around the corner. We liked the area a lot. Duncan and Sarah’s home is a quiet and peaceful base for exploring London. It’s really easy to get to central London from Lee Green. We enjoyed their spacious house, their garden and our children loved the toys and books. Duncan and Sarah emailed us recommendations for day trips and things to do and see in London. Although we know London fairly well we found lots of new things to discover. Duncan and Sarah are very friendly, reliable and easy going. They made us feel welcome and treated us like friends. We would love to meet them in person some day. They took great care of our apartment and left it in the best condition - we could hardly see that they were here. We can highly recommend Duncan and Sarah as guests and hosts and we would always do an exchange with them again.
