I had a great time staying at Elin's wonderful home in Lillestrom.. They were gone for the first several days of the exchange, and when they returned we stayed up talking into the early morning hours. On my last night they prepared a traditional Norwegian dinner which was really great. There house is contemporary and large. I had the spacious basement to myself. The woodwork downstairs is really impressive. Of course, I had the use of the huge kitchen where I prepared several meals. There is a big supermarket one block from the house which makes life easy. Lillestrom is a pleasant suburb of Oslo. There are restaurants, bars and stores within several blocks of Elin's home. The train station is an easy 7 minute walk from the house. It is really fast to get to central Oslo and the airport from here. I was very happy staying with Elin and her great family in Norway. They have invited me back, and I am enthusiastically looking forward to seeing them again in the several years. If you want to visit the marvelous country of Norway, I could not imaging a better experience than staying here.
