- Barrie Retired Architect (76)
Hello, we're very pleased to meet you
We're very pleased to meet you.
Barrie and I are a lively semi-retired couple with children and grandchildren. Barrie is a recently retired architect, and was chairman of Goring Gap Players, the local amateur dramatic group, for whom he has acted and directed. I worked in newspapers for many years, and taught Media in a secondary school. My name is Sue.
Our son and his family moved to Cape Town nine years ago and we plan to visit annually in order to keep in touch. They live in the City Bowl, not far from Clifton and Camps bay. Last year we did three house swaps, which was a great way to arrange an extended visit, but retain our independence. Two were within a short distance from the family, so we could take turns with the school run, babysitting and general family life. While another was four hours drive from the city and big enough for all of us to stay in, giving us a lovely family holiday together
Christmas 2013 we hope to meet in Thailand, so our house is available then. In 2014/2015, we are keen to find exchanges in both Cape Town,Western Cape and Italy, so do get in touch.
We can also offer you a two stop holiday, combining Goring on Thames with Oxford, as we also have a holiday home available in a lovely location.
December 16 — January 12, 2014 These dates are flexible
Our family are staying at the Asparas Beach Resort, Khao Lak, and have invited us to join them. However we would prefer to stay nearby. So if you would like to swap your home for a traditional English Christmas in an area of natural beauty in UK, we'd love to meet you.
January 1 — April 4, 2015 These dates are flexible
June 6 — June 20, 2014
Christmas in Thailand would set the stage for plenty of flexibility of dates for the next few months.
We both enjoy travel, with all the cultural experiences and differences that come with it. Fortunately we've reached an age when our time is our own and, thanks to you, we may be lucky enough to see much more of the world that we would do otherwise.
