- Brian Anglican Priest (1)
- Agnes Primary School Principal (1)
Greetings from the south of Ireland
We are experienced exchangers, having had our 23rd exchange in Berlin in summer 2013. Our home for exchange is in Stradbally, Co. Waterford. I am a Primary School Principal in Cork city. It is a five-teacher school in the city centre. We are the parish school of St Fin Barre's Cathedral, a famous landmark in Cork city. My husband is a priest in the Church of Ireland (Anglican). His parish is the Parish of St Anne Shandon. His church is an even more famous landmark. Its iconic tower features in almost all tourist information concerning Cork city. If you visit Cork (1 hour 20 mins from Stradbally) I highly recommend visiting St Anne's Shandon to ring the bells and climb the tower.
We have 2 'children'. Harriet and Philip are 24 and 22. They will not be travelling with us.
We have two small dogs, Monty and Millie. If we exchange within Ireland we would really like to be able to take them with us. Of course we understand that this may not be acceptable to many exchangers! They go to kennels when Harriet and Philip cannot look after them in Cork.
Any time — August 31, 2014
We had a wonderful exchange at Agnes and Brian's home. We notice immediately their long experience in home exchange, everything is thought of in detail to enable an exchange in the best possible terms. We found a clean and neat house, a pleasant garden, and appreciated the games that were made available to our children, and the gifts upon arrival. There is plenty to do do nearby (2 lovely coves within walking distance) or further, the coast is very beautiful, the villages charming. Agnes and Brian were kind enough to leave their auto as well, which was great to discover the south of Ireland. We definitely recommend Agnes and Brian's home to anybody wishing to spend a quiet holiday in a lovely environment. Marie-Noëlle, Julien and their 2 boys aged 7 (Paris)
We spent great holidays at Stradbally in August 2015 (3 weeks). Agnes and Brian are very friendly. The weather was very nice (just 3 rainy days). They had prepared our arrival very carefully. The house was perfect: location, cleanliness and confort. Our daughters (3 and 5 years old) were enchanted too. Ireland is beautifull! Great place for great swap. Warmly, Cedric & Ophelie
We recently returned from an exchange in the comfortable, tidy, well-appointed home of Cedric and Ophélie in Gouvieux. We brought our own bikes and loved the daily easy cycle into the town where there are lovely bakeries and a very good supermarket. There are super cycling paths around the Gouvieux-Chantilly area. Chantilly's castle, horse museum and gardens are all very beautiful and enjoyable. We travelled by car also to many interesting places: Senlis (also possible by bicycle through woods), Soissons, Laon, Compiègne (Clairiére de l'Armistice), Clermont, Gerberoy, Auvers-sur-Oise and the battlefields and museums of the Somme. Cedric and Ophélie had left thoughtful (and delicious!) welcoming gifts and we returned home to find that they had taken immense care to leave our house exactly as they found it. I am delighted that I had the opportunity, at the start of their holiday, to meet this lovely family and welcome them to our home. Thank you and we wish you many happy exchanges.
