Oregon--city and countryside--you'll love it!
Dean (retired teacher) enjoys woodworking and hiking; Nancy has her own business which she can manage remotely so we can be flexible. We relocated to Oregon in 2007 because of Portland's beauty and many attractions. We are thrilled to live here. With access to both city and nature, we feel fortunate. We occasionally travel with friends/our adult children. We love experiencing local cultures and have had 14 marvelous home exchanges.

Our exchange fell through and we are still very interested in NZ
Our lives have been enriched living locally and experiencing what others call "home"--the food, the sites, the people. So many wonderful places to see . . .
We loved our exchange in Portland last month. We especially enjoyed the beautiful place we called called "home" for the week. You couldn't find a place with more charm and character than this converted schoolhouse condo: multiple patios surrounded with lovely plantings, the grand staircase that graced the foyer up to the second floor master bedroom suite and study ,and the views to the wooded areas and river. We'd love to exchange again with this warm, comfortable, and welcoming abode.
Nancy and Bruce were great exchangers--from our initial email contact to the follow up after our exchange. Their home, superbly located, has those "million dollar views" and was tastefully and comfortably decorated. Santa Fe is a wonderful site to explore for its architecture, history, food, and unique vistas. Bruce and Nancy were helpful in identifying places to see and things to do in their area.
We did our first exchange with Nancy and her husband Dean the summer, 2012. They were absolutely wonderful in every way. They are experienced home exchangers who made the entire process very easy for us. Their home is spectacular and it is in a fantastic location, feet away from fantastic hiking trails which we took full advantage of. Nancy and Dean simultaneously stayed at our house with another couple and they were available via the entire exchange process. They were even kind enough to allow us (our entire family) to stay on in their basement after they returned home as their tenants were away and we were going to be in Portland longer. This was exceptionally kind and generous of them. I cannot say enough positive things about my exchange with Nancy and Dean. I recommend their home extremely highly. But, more than that, they are truly lovely people and a pleasure to exchange with! They exceeded our expectations and made us feel at home! Thank you Nancy and Dean for sharing your wonderful home and for making our first home exchange experience so great! From all of us. . . Nina, Scott, Sophie and Zack!
