- Tricia Owns a Real Estate Firm (46)
- Fred Owns a Physical Therapy Practice (56)
Come explore the coast of North Carolina!
We are Tricia (46) & Fred (56) Ireland. Tricia owns a Real Estate Brokerage in Wilmington, NC and Fred owns a Physical Therapy practice in Leland, NC. We fell in love with Wilmington, NC in 2004 and decided to call the historic district of Wilmington our home. We purchased our Carolina Beach home in 2009, Topsail beach home in 2012, completed a full renovation of our historic Wilmington Home in 2015 and added a downtown Asheville condo in June 2015. We enjoy long weekend exchanges that are within driving distance of Wilmington and longer exchanges to new and exciting destinations. We prefer exchanges that are within walking distance to a vibrant downtown. We are open to all areas. Our two beach homes are located on two very different beach towns on the coast (one very lively, one very laid back). We also have a 2 Bedroom home in the historic downtown Wilmington area (just 1 block to the riverwalk) and a 1BR condo in the Kress building in Asheville. Feedback we have received from people we have traded with has been that they never knew we were in their home. We take pride in leaving others homes better than when we arrived.

Seeking long weekend exchanges, walking distance to downtown or Upper King area.
Fred & Tricia are passionate about Neapolitan pizza and we have traveled to many areas both in and out of the country in search of the perfect pizza (Antico in Atlanta is our favorite so far). We now have a dedicated "Egg" grill for making our own (we can get the grill to >900 degrees and the pie cooks in 2 minutes). We make our own dough, sauce and at times mozzarella (but prefer Buffalo Mozzarella), we grow our own basil and have peppers imported from Italy.
A most wonderful retreat by the ocean. The place is impeccably clean and offers a great view of channel. It is just a short walk to the wonderful beach. To top it all, it is very close to Wilmington that is a charming laid back southern city with great restaurants and cultural institutions. We could not be happier there.
Great spacious loft style home with terrific location. Walk to many attractions, restaurants or take the easy, user friendly, public transportation system which is only 1.5 blocks away. The ideal location to explore all of Chicago!
We had the pleasure of spending a few days in Carolina Beach this past week. I could feel the stress leave me as I sat on the back deck looking at the marina, steps away. And having the beach a few steps away in the other direction gave us the best of both worlds. But the effort that Tricia and Fred took to make our exchange successful was what was the icing on the cake. We literally had to bring nothing but our bathing suits and clothes. They took care of every detail, from sunscreen to great cooking utensils, and even a brand new toothbrush should we need it! If you are looking for an upscale beach home in a charming beach community, this is it!
This is a terrific condo and building, Debi & Bruce are great hosts. Spacious, well appointed, clean condo in a building with great amenities (pool, billiards, fitness center, movie theater, friendly concierge). Walking distance to movie theater, restaurants and shopping. A short drive to some great sites in Atlanta - don't miss pizza at Antico, a drink at Prohibition (if you know the code to get in) and some of the best Korean food at So Dong Kong on Buford Highway. The DeKalb international farmers market and the Botanical Gardens were both great day trips as well. A great exchange!
I had a very positive experience at this exchange. Sitting on the back deck and looking out at the sailboats, I felt as though I was in Nantucket. The home is beautifully decorated, spotless, close to the beach and a nice walk to town. Even a picky person would have a hard time not thoroughly enjoying themselves at the Carolina Beach house. PS: The mattress in the master is superb.
This is a lovely beach place, beautifully appointed, and just steps from Carolina beach. The beds are super comfortable, and the whole place is super clear. There is a dock right off the back of the condo, where you can go fishing or crabbing. There are tons of activities to do, from deep see fishing, kayaking, boating, bike riding, or simply taking sunset beach walks. Tricia and Fred are super friendly, and the communication was excellent. Close by, the town of Wilmington is a lovely historic town, with old Spanish moss covered trees, and southern mansions. There are also some delicious restaurants to try. I highly recommend this unit for exchange.
Carolina Beach is a great destination for family or couples. The beach is spectacular and the town is sweet. Terrific seafood restaurants are everywhere. There are also plenty of day-trip getaways to other beach towns, Wilmington, scenic drives and numerous historic sites. Tricia and Fred's lovely beach house is the perfect location to access all these great activities, and of course, if you choose, get total relaxation on the beautiful beach. These folks are terrific hosts and make sure the house is outfitted with every possible necessity to make this a real home away from home experience. The place is spacious and light-filled, some rooms open to a beautiful canal view and the ocean is a short walk-away. We truly enjoyed this exchange opportunity and hope to revisit.
Jim & Kathleen's home is perfect for an Asheville getaway! The home is charming, bright and clean. The view from the breakfast area in the kitchen is wonderful! The neighborhood is lovely and a short walk (about 10-15 min) to downtown (only a 5 min drive but the walk through the neighborhoods is nice). The immediate neighborhood has some great spots to eat (Homegrown & Dough) as well as places to grab a beer (Asheville growler and Asheville Brewing com) - all withing a 5 minute walk. Jim & Kathleen were very easy to work with on the exchange and we hope to more trades in the (near) future! Thanks for a great vacation!
