We love to travel and meet other people.

We love city life and our home exchange destinies are often big cities. We love to visit museums and to wander around, just 'watching people'. The most ideal we think is a combination with water (the sea or a lake). We love the beach and the sun, and also to combine that with trips in nature.

I am so glad we had a non-simultaneous exchange with Richarda and Leo because it gave us an opportunity to spend some time with them. They were the most fun couple we have exchanged with and we hope to meet them again in the future. We loved their apartment in Amsterdam. The front of the building overlooks a main canal and the rear overlooks a large garden area. There is a bedroom that sleeps two and a loft that also sleeps two. The bathroom and kitchen are both very modern with up to date fixtures/appliances. The Heineken Experience is a 10 minute walk, 15 minutes away is the Rijksmuseum, the VanGogh museum, Coster Diamonds, Vondelpark and lots of wonderful places. Across the canal is a grocery store and a wine/liquor store. The trolley is at the end of the block. You can walk to just about anywhere in Amsterdam in 30 minutes and feel safe wherever you go. We spent a day on the "Hop-on Hop-off" canal boat and it was a wonderful way to see the city and figure out where you wanted to spend more time and what sites you wanted to visit. Amsterdam is a city of neighborhoods and each neighborhood has its own characteristics. In the evening you can pour yourself a glass of wine or beer and sit on the stoop out front. The neighbors usually gather there and you can get to meet them. One of our favorites was Geraldine, a lovely lady with flaming red hair who is an absolute pleasure to talk with. Tell her we said hello.

What we said about Donna's house:

Our home exchange with Donna was a nice and complete experience. Donna's home is luxurious with a big bathroom and a bedroom with an excellent bed and airco. The house has a big garden, in which you can feed the squirrels. What made the home exchange such a great experience, was that we met Donna and her friends (we did non simultaneous exchange), we even went on a boat trip and a 'bar trip'. She gave us all information about places to go, like several small museums. We now feel a warm friendship, with nice memories. We can warmly advice and exchange with Donna!

We spent a great week in Amsterdam at the end of June 2015 in a modern and typical apartment, in an old building, very well located, where we could enjoy a beautiful view of one of the city's canals.

What we said about Annemie & Rob's house:
