We exchanged with Nancy & Luc for an extended weekend in Bruges this Autumn 2011 and we were VERY satisfied and happy with our exchange! Their location is a stone's throw from Brugge's city center, a mere 15 min. walk into town. Their place is big and comfortable, they have a wonderful garden and all conveniences that you may need for either a weekend or longer stay. For families with children this would be an ideal location as they have everything your family can possibly need: from toys for the smaller children to videogames for the older ones. We were there as a couple on a romantic weekend getaway and it was just what we needed: the comfort of a home with the romance of medieval Bruges! We'd exchange with them again anytime! Erika & Jeroen (extended weekend exchange from The Netherlands)
In October 2011 we visited The Hague and had an exchange with Erika and Jeroen. We stayed for a long weekend in their brand new and luxurous appartment which is very well located. As it is right next to the train and tram station, we went to the beach in Scheveningen by tram. By foot we went to the city centre (only a few minutes). And the third day we went to 'Het Haagsche Bos' (forest of The Hague) and Park Clingendael, also by foot reachable. Another aspect we liked was that their appartment is located on the 17th floor (lift very quick). We liked the view as we live in a normal family house. We can really recommend and felt really welcome. All was very clean and our daughter (3 years old) was happy with the fishes and all the toy pets lying on her bed as a welcome. In the future we hope to change again with Erika and Jeroen.
We spent the Easter weekend in this lovely house in Bruges. We wholeheartedly recommend Nancy and Luc as exchange partners. They were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Their house is quiet and very restful, with a lovely atmosphere. The beds are extremely comfortable, and we slept like logs. It takes 10-15 minutes from this very nice area just across the canal to walk to the city centre. Or a short bus ride - the buses come every 10 minutes- or Nancy and Luc will lend you their bikes... They also stayed in touch to answer questions by text - and left our house looking perfect. And of course Bruges is glorious, and a great place to visit! A lovely exchange. Alison & Joe
This Easter weekend we had a very nice exchange house and experience with Alison and Joe in London. Their house was in a very beautiful area - beautiful English houses and street, overlooking London. From here it took about 45 min to the city area, but even with our small baby and 3-year old, this was not a problem to do. The house was very big and comfortable. Especially the large family kitchen we found very comfortable. Alison was very helpful upfront, gave a lot of tips to do, checked upfront the menu in a restaurant (due to daughter's allergies) and also changed ALL the beds - so our daughter could chose between 3 rooms:) Due to Alison's tips we have seen other nice areas in London than the normally touristic places we had seen before. Comming home it was a surprise that 1 laundry was already done - and the rest was looking the way we left our place. I can really recommend this exchange party!
We spent a wonderful week in this lovely home during our Easter holidays of 2013. Everything was exactly as we would have wished for. The home was spacious, modern and very comfortable. Their home manual was exemplary with crystal clear instructions on all aspects of their home, where necessary, and a very good guide to places of interest in the region. The weather, their close proximity to the beautiful medieval city centre of Bruges, easy access by foot to bars and restaurants made this holiday most enjoyable. Our own home was also very well taken care of, as was our car-and cat! We will remember our holiday of 2013 with great fondness and we would highly recommend an exchange with the Van Alsenoy family.
We stayed in this great place 1 week during Eastern holdidays 2013 (very nice for the kids to look for the Eastern eggs in the great garden). It was our first time in Ireland, and we can really recommend Ireland and this exchange. We felt really welcome and all was perfectly arranged. The house was very comfortable, a lot of toys for the children (even a seperate play room), and outside a great garden and nice to walk / play as well. From Gabriel's and Nuala's place it is only a few minutes to the beach, beautiful walk. Sitting in their kitchen, you can even see the beach, great view. A lot to explore, nice places nearby. And in the end we combined this trip with a few days Dublin. Luc, Nancy, Nanou and Yara
We've just returned home from a wonderful swap with Nancy & Luc in Bruges. The medieval city of Bruges is like stepping into a fairytale. And the comfortable and cosy house completed our extended Ascension weekend perfectly (including the impressing yearly Holy Blood procession). Even our 6 year old daughter had the time of her life with all the cool toys from the two little girls and the huge garden. We really recommend a HomeExchange with Nancy & Luc, also because they took care of our house so well. So... don't hesitate and give it a try! ;-) Grtz, Barbara, Jane and Ravi from Amsterdam
Just back from a long weekend in this great appartment. As a family of four with 2 small girls (2 and 5 years), we all felt at home and all had a nice time. The appartment itself is very warm, well equipped, lots of toys for our kids. Also very nice: the cosy little terrace outside to enjoy a drink or even have breakfast / dinner. The location just next to the Westerpark and shops around the corner is great. Lots of things to do in Westerpark. We especially enjoyed using the bikes which was great as our girls could sit on our bikes (we felt a bit like locals....). Coming back our house was as we left it, very well taken care off. In short: 4 very nice days, and really haven't seen so many things yet as Amsterdam has so much to offer we had to chose! Luc, Nancy, Nanou and Yara.
Great holiday in Belgium !!!! Bruges is a beautiful peaceful and relaxing city. It offers many locations and venues in the historic center and beautiful walks to suits channels. Near the coast of the Netherlands and northern France, it is only one hour from Brussels by train, which offers many opportunities for discoveries outside its walls. Home of Nancy & Luc is ideally located 10 minutes walk from the center and 10 minutes walk from the Belgian countryside, the starting point for beautiful walks or bike rides safe to visit with the whole family. The house is beautiful and our daughters have loved playing in the lovely garden (not to mention all the toys !). Nancy & Luc, with whom we were in regular contact before and during our stay, have helped us to prepare our trip. We have asked several times for advice and they have always responded quickly and with great kindness. They have well maintained our house as we found it back clean and tidy and they took care of our flowers. It was a very pleasant exchange, we would recommand without hésitation ! We hope to stay in touch ! Arnaud, Gaelle, Cléo & Emma
