Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Our travel time is fairly flexible but only have a couple of weeks so need some advance notice so we can take advantage of holidays, etc. that might provide us some extra time.
This home exchange could not have worked out more perfectly. This Uptown New Orleans home is a place I wish we could visit over and over. When we walked in we instantly felt at home in this incredibly stylish home with lots of attention to detail. The owners made it as comfortable as possible for us even with fresh flowers! We exchanged our homes, cars and even bikes for a week this summer and hope to again. I can't get this vacation out of my mind. We loved the quiet safe neighborhood close to St. Charles and all of the help given to us by the owners about things to see and do. It was a perfect week in the most beautiful home! We love New Orleans!
For our first trip to New Orleans, we could not have asked for a better home or location. It was so convenient to get from Nancy and Ben's home to downtown, just hopping on the trolley a couple of blocks away. Their home is in a charming neighborhood, and we felt very safe there. As we only spent 3 days on this visit, we didn't do much cooking at the house, because the wonderful Creole food of New Orleans beckoned to us. We loved everything about NOLA -- the food was incredible, the music was fantastic, and the hospitality everywhere we went was truly wonderful. Nancy and Ben were kind enough to let us use their car one day, and we drove out to visit two plantations. I highly recommend getting out of the city, to explore those areas. I have to say that, of all the home exchanges that we have done in the past few years, including those abroad, this trips stands out as one of the best. We look forward to visiting New Orleans again some day! Helen and Eric
Helen and Eric have an immaculately kept home in a lovely location. Although we are big restaurant goers, we occassionally like to cook at home and certainly like to keep something to munch in the refrigerator. This house has a great kitchen. We went for the fall color and to experience Burlington and Lake Champlain. It was everything we had hoped it would be - relaxing but never boring. Good food, good shopping and, best of all countryside to explore and meditate upon. What made it so relaxing was the solid comfort of our host's lovely house. Recommended.
i very much enjoyed my stay at this lovely home . The house is very ,very comfortable and very well furnished .. two very stylish and well equiped bathrooms are en suite to the lovely bedrooms , the reception rooms are perfect ..but it was also a joy sitting out in a comfortable rocking chair on the front porch watching the world go by in this very ,very nice area of New Orleans. The whole area is full of other beautiful homes and there are lots of interesting shops and cafes nearby. Our hostess , Nancy , very kindly gave us lots and lots of help in planning our visit .. suggested the best restaurants .. and also made reservations for us prior to our arrival.. without her help we would never have been able to get reservations at Commanders' Place for Easter Sunday Brunch, She also very ,very kindly left the fridge well stocked .. and a big basket full off goodies and treats on the kitchen counter ..!! Altogether just TOO kind ..!! This was a perfect holiday in a perfect home .. and i shall never forget New Orleans - this beautiful home or indeed Nancy's kindeness to me ..
Ah. The view! Spectacular. Nigel's place is nestled in a lovely, hidden area off the docks and at the foot of the Tower Bridge. St. Katherine Docks is beautiful. Designed by Telford in 1825, one feels transported to the early 19th century without sacrificing modern convenience. There are some good restaurants, two of them we found to be excellent, and several shops. Check out the art galleries. We found a couple of artists worth investing in. There is a major grocery store, hair dressers and deli across the street. There are a couple of places for coffee and tea. We found the coffee to be quite good. Nigel's place is suitable for a couple or single traveler. Did I mention how conveniently located it is to the Tower Hill Tube station? This is a major station and will get you to just about anywhere you want to go. Make sure you don't skip Spitalfield's Market, Bloom Perfumer and Brick Lane. We loved Dean Swift Pub where they serve local craft beer and ale from nearby micro breweries and have some of the BEST food anywhere. It's a great pub with great food in Bermondsey which is right across the Tower Bridge and to the left. All in all we had a lovely time. Thank you, Nigel!!
From the very first moment we got off the plane in New Orleans until the sad moment when we got back on the plane, this was an exchange made in heaven. Nancy and Ben met us from the airport, took us on a whistle stop tour of the city and provided us with sustenance before whisking us off to see a great band at a local bar. They were incredibly friendly and hospitable and their beautiful home was fantastic. We had a great time at the Jazz Fest but also enjoyed riding their bikes around the neighbourhood and jumping on and off the streetcars. I would recommend this exchange to anyone. Thank you Nancy and Ben. X
