My partner Jon & I (Michael) have a home in the East of England which we took on as a virtual ruin and have spent the last 8 years restoring to it's former glory but with my work taking me to London and Jon's career requiring him to be in London also, it became obvious that we needed a base in the capital.
I found a great apartment in 2010 and we have just bought the flat downstairs which we are now currently living in prior to doing this up too. It is the downstairs garden flat that we are currently offering for exchange. I don't think either of them will ever take over from our house in the country but Jon says he could get used to it!
We both love to eat and West Hampsted lets us indulge our passion for food. A quick tube journey takes us to the heart of London and a dizzying array of foodie establishments.
Jon's an ex-actor type which means we're forever in the West End watching 'new' theatre. He used to sing as well (my goodness is there no end to the boy's talent!) so choral evensong in St Paul's or Westminster Abbey or one of the Chapels Royal is another outlet when he's in London not to mention some great classical concerts.
I on the other hand am still young at heart and prefer pubs and clubs and less stuffy hobbies so I guess we're a good match and we certainly should be able to point you in the right direction whatever your particular interest.
