Me and my son Hans spent two weeks at Donna´s house from 15.th.to 30th. of April 2014. The house is great and Donna had made a huge effort to make our stay as good as possible, by leaving lot of information and also we felt really welcome with vine and food waiting for us when we arrived :) The furniture are wonderful, comfortable and cozy and we loved to light up the fireplace in the living room with a class of read wine after a round of golf :) Our main purpose of the visit was golf, but we also enjoyed the beach, the restaurants and the nice atmosphere of Sebastian. Donna has been so nice to offer us to exchange again and we will be travelling to her house next March.

What we said about Margrét's house:

We had a non-simultaneous exchange with Margret. She visited my home with her son Hans in April and we visited her home in Iceland in June. Margret's home is an apartment in downtown Reykjavik. It is a very comfortable three bedroom apartment decorated in shades of beige and taupe and it comes complete with a cat that provides an extra sense of cozy. The master bedroom is done in white and the bed is so very comfortable. Margret left us enough food that we barely had to go to the grocery store! We rented a car and drove all over Iceland. We packed lunches in a cooler that Margret provided for us. It is a beautiful country and we highly recommend getting out and driving far and wide, there is no traffic in Iceland. Before you leave for Iceland spend sometime studying the geothermal aspects of the country so you can appreciate what you are seeing: volcanoes, glaciers, geysers, fjords, thermal baths, separating tectonic plates, mountains, etc. Margret and Hans will be back at my house next year and we look forward to spending time with them.

Our home exchange with Donna was a nice and complete experience. Donna's home is luxurious with a big bathroom and a bedroom with an excellent bed and airco. The house has a big garden, in which you can feed the squirrels. What made the home exchange such a great experience, was that we met Donna and her friends (we did non simultaneous exchange), we even went on a boat trip and a 'bar trip'. She gave us all information about places to go, like several small museums. We now feel a warm friendship, with nice memories. We can warmly advice and exchange with Donna!

What we said about Richarda le Duc's house:

I am so glad we had a non-simultaneous exchange with Richarda and Leo because it gave us an opportunity to spend some time with them. They were the most fun couple we have exchanged with and we hope to meet them again in the future. We loved their apartment in Amsterdam. The front of the building overlooks a main canal and the rear overlooks a large garden area. There is a bedroom that sleeps two and a loft that also sleeps two. The bathroom and kitchen are both very modern with up to date fixtures/appliances. The Heineken Experience is a 10 minute walk, 15 minutes away is the Rijksmuseum, the VanGogh museum, Coster Diamonds, Vondelpark and lots of wonderful places. Across the canal is a grocery store and a wine/liquor store. The trolley is at the end of the block. You can walk to just about anywhere in Amsterdam in 30 minutes and feel safe wherever you go. We spent a day on the "Hop-on Hop-off" canal boat and it was a wonderful way to see the city and figure out where you wanted to spend more time and what sites you wanted to visit. Amsterdam is a city of neighborhoods and each neighborhood has its own characteristics. In the evening you can pour yourself a glass of wine or beer and sit on the stoop out front. The neighbors usually gather there and you can get to meet them. One of our favorites was Geraldine, a lovely lady with flaming red hair who is an absolute pleasure to talk with. Tell her we said hello.
