Welcome to the countryside in Berlin: welcome to Kladow!
We are a family of four and live in the beautiful south-west of Berlin. Our district Berlin-Kladow is wonderful: green and quiet, close to the water and forests yet offering perfect public transportation to the very city centre!
Andy is 44 years old and a civil engineer. Eva is 38 and works as a key account manager for investors in Real Estate in a Berlin bank.
Our daughter Carolin is a fifth-grader, was 10 in January 2015. Our son Felix goes to kindergarden, he will be 6 years old in July 2015.
We are non-smokers and don't have pets.
We will treat your home very carefully and expect the same from our exchange partners. For your convenience, we have prepared a "house manual" to answer the most common questions and to share some recommendations.
July 21 — August 7, 2016
We are planning to stay in Europe in summer 2016: IRELAND! As we usually combine an exchange with a roundtrip we would use the exchange home for 7 - 12 days. However, you are invited to use our Berlin home for 18 days (Thursday, July 21st to Sunday, August 7th, 2016).
March 27 — April 3, 2016
We are passionate about family-friendly activities. We look for places where we can find a combination of things to do for us adults and to enjoy for the kids. Tricky enough... :-)
We love to use our exchange house as a basis for exploring the region we are visiting.
We had a really fine vacation at Eva & Andy's house. Their house is located in the suburbs of Berlin in a quiet and children friendly neighbourhood with playgrounds very near by the house. It's a nice house with all mod con.'s and a small, but sunny garden. There's also a beautiful lake within walking distance. It takes approx. 40 minutes by bus to get to the center of Berlin (Bahnhof Zoo) There is a busstop close to the house and the bus runs very often. The arranging of the swap ran smoothly and the neighbours were also very helpful. So if you want to enjoy Berlin but also want a quiet "home" for your stay, this is an excellent choice.
We've spent a great week at Betina's and Ole's charming Copenhagen apartment. It is conveniently located with easy access to public transportation and supermarkets etc. It takes approx. 15 minutes to go downtown, a car is not necessary. However, parking is available directly on the street at no extra cost. We liked the comfy apartment very much. Lots of toys - a children's paradise. And a quite surrounding, no traffic noise etc. The contact to Betina and Ole was very friendly and supportive - thanks again for having had the possibility to stay at your place. We enjoyed our time in Copenhagen very much.
We exchanged homes with Eva and Andy in early July 2011 and we had a wonderful week. Their house is a modern townhouse in the very calm and lush lakeside village of Kladow between Berlin and picturesque Potsdam. Every ten minutes, an express bus leaves for Berlin from a bus stop only three minutes walk away, so getting to Berlin everyday was very easy. A couple of times, we instead chose the ferry across the lake to Wannsee S-bahn station. We were met with great hospitality from the family (and from a neighbour and friend) and they took very good care of our home. When we arrived at our house after our trip, we found it in excellent condition. This was our first exchange through this site, and we are already planning our next one. Thank you, Eva and Andy!
We stayed at Evalotta's and David's place close to Gothenburg in July 2011 for a week and we loved it! It's a modern Swedish style villa and we enjoyed all amenities offered and the wonderful view over the surrounding landscape. Especially with younger children it was great to have a garden and toys to play with. The house was a good basis to explore the Swedish west coast, i.e. the southern part of the so called "Bohuslän". Thanks a lot for your hospitality and for having had the possibilty to stay at this beautiful spot! And thanks a lot, too, for taking good care of our Berlin home, too! This was our first home exchange experience and now we are fully convinced - thanks to Evalotta & David! All the best for you!
We have just returned from an excellent exchange in Berlin Kladow. Eva and Andy's house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a restful stay. Whilst there was just my husband and I exchanging, the house is very suitable for a young family as there are plenty of activities for children to enjoy. Another bonus is the friendly neighbourhood and the fantastic public transport system, including ferries across Lake Wannsee, near Potsdam. There are also 3 buses an hour to the centre of Berlin, approximately 40 minutes away. Eva and Andy left our home in pristine condition, and we would definitely recommend an exchange with them if you fancy combining culture, city life and beautiful countryside.
We've been at Berlin-Kladow, at Eva and Andy's house. Just to say that we had wonderfull week discovering the busy Berlin and at the same time relaxing in the country side by Eva and Andy's house at quiet Kladow. We really recommend! Thanks Eva and Andy! Best regards, José and Alexandra.
We simply loved the house of Jose and Alexandra in Vale do Lobo, Algarve. It's close to everything and yet so quiet and remote. The pool was great, the site itself very spacious with all amenities you need. It offers three bedrooms. We enjoyed the beautiful summer weather at Algarve with lots of sun. The patio to sit for the meals was wonderful - under a roof, with a constant light summer breeze... We even had the chance to meet our hosts and have a traditional Portuguese BBQ dinner together - thanks a lot, Alexandra & Jose, for inviting us and making this possible! And thanks, too, for leaving our home in Berlin in an excellent condition. We highly recommend a home exchange with Alexandra & Jose!!!
We had a great time in Berlin. A very nice, child friendly and luxury house and neighbourhood. Perfect combination: lakes, harbour and nature nearby and the big city (centrum Berlin) a bus ride away. We did a lot of jogging in the early morning and it was pleasure doing that. Also you have very friendly neighbours, they even leant us there bicycle with a babysit. The home exchange went smoothly and was perfect.
We had a good and relaxing time at the house of Eva and Sander and their four children in Herxen, close to Wijhe. The house is spacious and located in a rather rural area (apart from the train frequently passing by in rather close distance :-)) yet close to the cities of Deventer and Zwolle, historic Hanse cities. We especially liked to ride the bikes along the river IJssel - you could go for hours... Furthermore we went on day or overnight trips to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the North Sea. A good place for a family holiday!
We had an amazing exchange in the appartment of Eva and Andreas. Their place is a very quiet and peaceful, offering all the stuff is needed for a comforable vacation. Everything is modern, comfortable and clean. Eva and "Andy" are very friendly and sympathetic people and we will stay in contact through social media! Thank you very much from southern Italy!
We had a wonderful time in the appartment of Daniela and Roberto. Their place is like a palace: quiet, looking over olive trees, offering air condition in the living room as well as the bedrooms, two balconies and all the modern amenities you could wish for. Everything is modern and comfortable. Monteiasi close to Taranto in Apulia is a good base for exploring Apulia, its beaches and wonderful old towns. We went to Lecce and Matera, visited the Trulli houses in Alberobello and enjoyed several beaches. It was the first time we even exchanged cars and it was a very good experience! We highly recommend Daniela and Roberto to exchange with: they are very friendly and generous people and we will definitely stay in contact! All the best to you and thanks a lot for your hospitality!
