Bienvenue à Amiens!
We're a married couple with 2 children aged 9 and 12. We love to travel together and have enjoyed several trips in Europe and overseas. When we travel, we like to learn about different cultures and our first swap experiences convinced us that exchanging homes is the best way to travel and meet local people !
Looking for Europe or the USA or Canada in July 2015.

Open for an exchange up to one week.
We spent a lovely weekend visiting the home of Valerie and Sylvain! Everything we needed to stay comfortably was easy to find, and carefully explained. The cathedral in Amiens and our gorgeous fish dinner were fully worth the trip. Valerie left us an impressive collection of local information, so we could easily plan the rest of our time. After paging through the book, we spent another afternoon strolling the charming town of Gerberoy, and found some charming and unique gifts in a local crafts market. Our house was exceptionally well cared for -- we suspect cleaner when we returned than when we left! Thanks so much for a great exchange!
Our swap experience in Bennekom was a great family holiday. Stacy and J-P have a nice, comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance from Bennekom's charming town center and the forest, and the proximity of the motorway entry made it easy to enjoy day trips to beautiful Utrecht and Amsterdam. Plus, taking care of Mia, the family cat, was a real pleasure as she really is a very nice, easy to live with, sweet cat. Discussing and organizing this swap with Stacy was very easy and we found our house clean and in perfect order at the completion of the exchange. Thanks for this swap !
We spent a splendid month on an exchange with Valerie and Sylvain. Their home is extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable. Our children loved playing in the playroom and in the back yard. Valerie has lovingly prepared a very large binder filled with detailed information on attractions near and far; by using it daily we were able to fill our days with wonderful adventures for kids and grownups alike. There is so much to do in the immediate vicinity of their home, but also within a 200-km radius. The great city of Amiens lies within a very short driving distance of their home and its cathedral is stunningly beautiful (we understood why it is considered to be one of the most famous in Europe). We loved going to the many local food markets and explore the city and its vicinity. We also took day trips to Paris, Etretat (made famous by the paintings of Monet), Fecamp, Reims (the capital of the Champagne region), Rouen, Boulogne-sur-Mer (and its renowned aquarium Nausicaa), Gerberoy (rightly considered to be the prettiest village in France), and Naours (with its amazing subterranean city). Quend beach, a mere hour away from their home, was by far the most beautiful beach in France we have ever seen. The north of France rightly enjoys the reputation of being one of France's friendliest regions. The people we met were consistently warm and helpful. This region will also be of great interest to those wishing to visit the memorials and battlefields associated with the First World War. Upon our return home, we found our house in immaculate condition; everything was so neat and clean that it was hard to believe that a family of four had lived in our home for nearly a month. Since our exchange overlapped, we had the great pleasure of meeting Sylvain, Valerie, and their two lovely, extremely polite and well-behaved children. We can't imagine a better family to exchange homes with and we feel lucky that our first home exchange was with them.
We enjoyed a very successful exchange with Valérie and Sylvain. We were also fortunate to meet them and their two lovely children in France and in Vancouver. They are very organized, clean and were supportive of any requests we made. Valérie created a very detailed and complete book with the details of their house, their village and surrounding areas, especially beautiful Amiens. Their house has all the basics and the children's playroom was a great asset for our children. From their house, we did some side trips by car/train to Belgium, Eurodisney and Paris. They left our house and car in very clean condition. We loved the rotating pizza van that comes to their village once/week!
Our exchange with Sylvain and Valerie was our first experience. It was an excellent swap. The home was exactly how it was portrayed in the listing. It had everything we needed and more. The information that they provided to us was amazing and very helpful during our stay. We felt so at home there and we knew we did not need to worry about our home. They took great care of our home and it was as we had left it when we returned. We could not imagine a better experience! We were fortunate enough to be able to meet at the end of our exchange which was a huge bonus. I would not hesitate to exchange with Valerie and Sylvain again.
We enjoyed a very succesful exchange in Dartmouth! Andrea and John's house is very confortable, nicely decorated and its central location makes it great for visits to Halifax, scenic day-trips all around Nova Scotia or even a fabulous side-trip to Prince Edward Island. Andrea and John took great care of our house. They were always very nice and helpful and it was a great pleasure to be in touch with them to organize the swap but also during it and after it. Meeting them and their adorable two daughters at the completion of the exchange was a real treat ! Thanks so much for this swap !
We had a wonderful time In Plachy Buyon at the home of Valerie and Sylvain. The home was in perfect condition when we arrived and Sylvain and Valerie were easy to reach if we had questions. There was a lovely book with information about the surrounding areas. Our location was wonderful. We spent time in Amiens and we also took day trips to Normandy, the Somme Valley, Boulougne sur Mer, and Versaille. The neighborhood was friendly and welcomed us warmly to the Bastille Day festivities. We met up with Valerie and Sylvain at the end of our exchange to catch up on each others experiences. This was our first experience with home exchange and I already look forward to doing it again.
We had a lovely vacation in Missouri and much enjoyed meeting Patrick and Becky at the beginning and the completion of our swap. Their house is beautiful and the neighbors were very welcoming! We visited Jefferson city and its beautiful Capitol, had fun in parks within driving distance (Lake of the Ozarks, Columbia) as well as in Kansas city and Saint Louis were we enjoyed a great baseball game that Patrick and becky had the kindness to book for us.
We loved our stay in Plachy Buyon. When we arrived at a nice and clean house we found a lot of information. We felt home immediately. Our children loved to play in the playroom on the first floor. The highligt of this swap was a daytrip to Paris. We went there by train and had a great day. We also loved the baies de sommes. A very nice area with a beach were we spent a whole day and had a lot of fun. When we came back home in Sevenum we found our house as clean as we left it. Our beds were even made! Thanks a lot Valérie and Sylvain for this fantastic swap. Artz family
We had a great time in Sevenum! We were lucky enough to meet Anja and Antoine and their lovely children at the beginning of our swap and they were extremely nice and welcoming. They own a beautiful and comfortable house in a quiet area and the garden is amazing! We visited Maastricht twice, went to Germany several times and also enjoyed the lovely bicycle paths and amusement parc around the house. We stayed 5 days and only regretted that it was too short. And when we got back home, we found our house in perfect order. Thanks for this swap!
