We all like to travel. In 2011/12 we have been in Calgary, Canada for one year to discover the canadian way of life. During this time we also travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US. Through sabbaticalhomes.com we arranged a long term rental of our home to an australian family and during our stay in New York City we also stayed in a private home. In the last couple of years we spent very enjoyable time through home exchange in southern Brittany and in southern Sweden. These were such positive experiences that we would like to continue with home exchange!
We have spent 2 very nice weeks this summer in the modern house of the family VONTOBEL near Zurich. We had the pleasure to discover a very nice, clean and well organised house in Egg : small city but close to nice cities like Rapperswill and Zurich. We used the bikes to go around the house in the wood : landscapes are really fantastic. Furthermore, as the weather was very hot, we enjoyed swimming in lakes. There is one 10 mn driving from the house. Switzerland is really a very nice country : you just need to have some money because the life is expensive. It is really very worth to discover this area and we had the pleasure to meet all the family on the way back and have appreciated our lunch together. It is really a very nice family and you won't be disappointed by your stay in their house. Have nice holidays in Egg !!!
Redon- what a nice little city! We have enjoyed our stay in Redon very much. The organization of the stay by email has been very helpful and smooth. Then we travelled to Redon and were greeted by a very nice house with a big yard. How exciting to see the inside of this big house! And in the fridge the first traditional meal was waiting... During our stay we went several times to the ocean and especially liked the big waves for surfing and the wind for flying the kites. Then we visited a few little towns closeby, that were very old and very beautiful with the typical french charme. Of course we did not forget to see the menhirs and pictured Obelix in the middst of them...Vannes was another city we liked very much: shopping, eating galettes and crèpes and tasting the best ice cream there is and just strolling between the medivial houses were highlights. After a wonderful vacation we arranched a meeting with the family on our way home. We spent a happy two hours together, ate lunch and had the impression that we knew this family since a long time: They were just as friendly, helpful, open, funny as we had expected them. So, go ahead, we only can recommend a stay at the Pistiaux home, you will have a wonderful time!
A very big, clean and well equiped house in walking distance to all the attractions and shopping in Lund. Within 10 min drive to nice beaches and the city of Malmö. The family made us feel at home and also took care of our house. We had a great time in Sweden and can only recommend this family for a home exchange.
We had a great time in Switzerland: Susanne's house is very nice, very spacious, and right at the bottom of a few hiking trails. We loved the lakes, 10 to 30' minutes drive, and also kids' activities (Kindercity and Technorama). The house is super organized, easy, and we even had the pleasure to meet the family on the train station! Perfect location to relax, or explore!
