Travel off the beaten path

Travel off the beaten path

We love to travel and especially like going to places that are off-the-beaten path. When we travel we prefer to live life as the locals do, and are excited to share "insider" tips and advice to visitors of our home and city.

We enjoy cooking, bike riding, swimming, spending time in the outdoors, soaking up local culture, people-watching, dining out and spending time with family and friends. Our daughter is funny and friendly and very athletic. And she LOVES all things horses -- riding, grooming, caring for them.

Scott's house is in a great location with easy access to all Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc. It's an Arts and Crafts bungalow, circa 1922; beautiful hardwood floors and woodwork; comfortably furnished with period pieces, and completely modern with every amenity. Couldn't be more perfect for a visit to this center for unique Appalachian arts. Great home for reading -- big, comfy chairs -- and within easy access to some of the best restaurants in town.

What we said about Susan's house:

What an amazing stay we had at Susan and Renny's home in San Miguel. Spacious, comfortable and beautiful with many lovely landscaped outdoor spaces. From the roof decks are outstanding views of the city. Or sit in the central courtyard and enjoy the sounds of the gorgeous wall fountain. The home sits in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance of parks, shops, markets, great restaurants and San Miguel's lively historic center. Susan and Renny couldn't have been more gracious and hospitable, sharing great info about all the things to see in do in their lovely city. Can't wait to return!
