You are always welcome....
My name is Mark. After growing up on the East Coast, and then moving to the high desert of New Mexico, I missed the ocean. When I was then blessed with my kids, I wanted to show them the amazing things I learned growing up near the ocean. I chose Catalina Island (Avalon) because while it was near Los Angeles, it was safe enough and small enough to let my kids go out by themselves and explore (the way kids used to be able to do). We decorated our Catalina Island home so that it was waiting for any type of visit from a weekend getaway to having everything you would need to prepare a holiday meal. While my kids are mostly grown (they are all in their 20's), I still travel with one or two of them when we can.I have traveled with one or more of my kids to every state in the United States as well as China, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and throughout Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and Europe. They are mature, independent, hard working and were raised to respect the property of others. We are alumni of UCLA, the University of California San Diego, the University of New Mexico, Creighton University and the University of Connecticut.
I love the tapas bars in Madrid; the number of small unique museums in Mexico City; the constant changing energy of New York and San Francisco; the remote beaches of Brazil, New Zealand and Australia; great food everywhere; the steel drum festival in Jamaica; flamenco clubs in Seville; late nights in Buenos Aires; taking photographs anywhere in Central and South America..... I'm constantly intrigued by the amazing places around the world
Location, location, location! The house is only 2 blocks from the beach, walking distance to supermarket and to the board walk where all the shops and restaurants are. Mark's house is simple, clean and it is equipped with everything you could ever need. My whole family loved staying at Mark's house. We loved it so much we want to exchange with him again this summer. We have 3 little kids and they all fit comfortably on the second bedroom. The yard is great. My in-laws came to visit us for dinner and it was great to bb-q and eat in the backyard. Mark was also super helpful and resourceful. He gave us great recommendations for fun things to do in the island with the kids.
