My name is Larry and I am a retired economist. My wife Judy is a retired hospital and home health nurse. We moved to Virginia after living in the Chicago, Illinois area for nearly thirty years. We enjoy hiking, reading, music, arts and crafts, and traveling.
Although much of our travel has been confined to the United States, Canada, and Europe, in recent years we had the opportunity to visit South Africa, Madagascar, Australia, and New Zealand briefly in connection with travel to and from a temporary position I held in Mauritius in 2006 and 2007.
We have four children, all grown and living in their own homes, and nine grandchildren. Although much depends on their vacation plans, as many as four of them might visit us for as long as a week at our exchange location. Similarly, another couple of approximately the same age as ourselves might possibly visit us for a week or so. Otherwise, there would only be the two of us. We have no pets (except for two frogs and a goldfish, both of which will stay at home or with a neighbor) and neither of us smokes.
