- Siggy Retired (67)
- Heather Business Consultant (67)
Dream, laugh, live and keep exploring.
We are 67 years of age and started our working lives as teachers. Heather continues to work as a part time small business accounting consultant while Siggy is retired (business manager). We have 2 grown up children and 6 grand children. Our daughter and family live nearby in Brisbane while our son lives in a completely self contained and totally separate unit under our house. We love to travel, both locally abroad, in our caravan or hire a motorhome. We visited central Europe in 2009 to catch up with Siggy's relatives in Poland. We then visited England, Scotland and Ireland in 2011 to explore Heather's ancestry. In 2013 we spent a lovely 4 months ambling around the Mediterranean sea visiting countries as far as Croatia, Greece and Turkey. In 2015 we spent a few months touring Spain/Portugal, the Baltic/Scandinavian countries and finished our trip experiencing Iceland. We have exchanged our house many times with both overseas and local families and are always open to offers from anywhere in Australia, especially up north such as Cairns or Broome, or any country overseas. Please temp us with your offer - we will always entertain new ideas. We are currently planning to tour the west coast of Canada in 2016 (Sept and early Oct) and then to explore Hawaii (mid Oct) so if you have a proposition please make contact and we will always reply.
We built our house in natural 3 acres of bushland to be close to nature and we absolutely love living here. All our neighbors also live on acreage. Our other interests include bike riding, bush walking, gardening and photography. Siggy still plays football while Heather loves to read a good book. Siggy speaks a little German and understands Polish.

Why walk when you can go by bike AND get exercise? We take our bikes everywhere - locally and overseas - on busy inner city streets, on bumpy back roads, on smooth speedy bike tracks or just ambling along quiet village lanes. London, Berlin or Istambul - our bikes have been there and lots of places in between. Our Brompton bikes are very convenient, fold easily and ultra compact. We get to see so much more by bike.
Hi Siggy and Heather, We have been in your house a week in 2012 and we love the house as well as the place where it's build. Beautiful view. We were happy to return after a busy day either on the Gold Coast or in the hinterland. Tambourine mountains is a must go. We'd love to be back again to enjoy your place to feel like home. George and Mieke
Wow, what a lovely comfortable and modern house and what a simply delightful couple to exchange with. We are now great friends. The location of the house is perfect. So many things to see and do within a short distance. Despite the freezing weather we had many local attractions all around us to choose to see. We swapped cars which made life easier. We even got to see a first division football match where the local Arnhem team won - a special highlight. History, culture and good old fashioned hospitality - its all here. Because our swap was not simultaneous we got picked up at the airport and driven to our swap house which was very convenient. Thank you George and Mieke for making our stay so very memorable. Go Vitesse!!!
