We had a great time in Roy and Caroles house in San Rafael. It is in a beautiful area overlooking a canal. The location is ideal for exploring San Francisco and Marin County. We were there in May and the whole place, including their neighbourhood, was green and lush. There is a lovely park near there house. Roy and Carole made us so welcome and has left detailed instructions on how to do everything from putting on a wash to refilling the bird feeders. They gave great advice on where to visit. Their house was lovely - so clean and tidy and had everything one could possibly need. The deck overlooking the estuary was a favorite place of mine - if you were lucky a hummingbird would come and feed while you sat there! Heavenly. Roy and Carole stayed with us in Ireland and had use of our car for 10 days. They were always a pleasure to deal with. We would highly recommend a home exchange with them.

Carole and Roy's condo was the perfect place from which to explore this fabulous part of California. They are experienced home exchangers and did everything to make the exchange work seamlessly. The condo itself was perfect for the two of us, and we enjoyed dining on the deck and experiencing the beautiful sunsets. Everyday was a new adventure: we hiked and walked in the nearby extensive state park, enjoyed the farmer's market (a must do!) went into San Francisco, and to inspiring Muir Woods national park. My husband biked everyday for miles and miles while I explored nearby towns and shops and sketched and painted the breathtaking scenery. We highly recommend this home exchange!

What we said about Alan and Martie's house:

Our stay at Martie and Alan’s large and comfortable house was perfect. Early each morning, we walked nearby trails they had recommended before setting out to explore Boulder’s many attractions. Boulder is a most appealing city, with the university campus, the Chautauqua complex, interesting neighborhoods, great restaurants and food shopping, and a population uniquely attuned to the environment. (Hordes of bikers!) Our road trips included Denver, Rocky Mt. National Park, historic gold mining towns, Coors brewery...we were never at a loss for adventures. And we were always happy to come home to dinner on their deck with its view across the fields out back. -- Roy Fidler & Carole Sherick
