- Andrew Retired pilot (71)
- Christine Retired Public Servant (63)
Greetings from the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia
We are a retired couple who both love travelling and have spent large chunks of our lives living overseas in England, Hong Kong and Malta. Sometimes we like to travel with another couple or family from England.
Andrew – a retired international airline pilot who enjoys playing golf, staying fit and building and flying large model planes.
Christine – a retired government advisor, who does not enjoy golf, but is into many other sorts of exercise such as swimming, hiking, yoga, circuit training and tennis, and loves cooking, reading and quilting.
We are proud and careful of our home and would show the same respect for yours. We would like to swap with people with similar values and happy to answer your emails promptly.

We love living in small towns/villages where we can walk to most things, or places that have this feel. We don't need the big city destinations always. We enjoy the outdoor life especially and like meeting different people. A place with access to yoga, wonderful hikes and a bridge club would fulfill all my holiday dreams.
We had a wonderful exchange with Christine and Andrew, and thoroughly enjoyed their beautiful apartment at The Glades. There were 2 balconies to enjoy - one overlooking the golf course and the other the hinterland. Robina shopping was only 3-5 minutes away, and the busy Gold Coast (with shopping, beaches and restaurants galore) was only a few more minutes away. But in their apartment you felt like you were miles away from the maddening crowds - it's such a peaceful setting. And it was such a treat to be able to just walk along the boardwalk, around the lake, to the club restaurant which served great food, with lovely outdoor seating and terrific sunsets. Also, it goes without saying that if you love golf...this is the place for you. We would highly recommend swapping with Chirstine and Andrew. Marilyn & Digby
We spent 2 weeks in September 2011 at this beautiful home. The setting was fabulous - great outlook, friendly local village, interesting hikes and good restaurants nearby. The home was extremely comfortable and offered everything we hoped for. Sitting on the verandah in the late afternoon overlooking Brisbane Waters enjoying a relaxing drink was a perfect end to each day. Marilyn and Digby were very accommodating hosts agreeing to us taking our 2 small dogs with us, and also having friends to stay during our visit. Highly recommended.
A beautiful place to live, on golf All shops close Visits the area very nice, Mount Tamborine, Springbrook, Brisbane ...Very good restaurants. Beautiful apartment, terrace for breakfast, lunch, diner, including barbecues .. Christina and Andrew are very nice and friendly, they have become our friends, we look forward to seeing them again soon in Melbourne, Sydney, Paris Marie Robert Thierry Shirley
Rueil-Malmaison was a great place to spend a week. We knew Paris well enough not to need to be on the tourist trail every day, but close enough with convenient trains so that we could meet friends for dinner in the centre of Paris. A great small town with the best pastry/bread shop I have ever come across. Good market, delis and fish shops. All the best of France in a very relaxed place. The apartment was very comfortable and extremely well provided for. Marie-France and Robert have become firm friends and keen exchangers.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Christine and Andrew's immaculate apartment overlooking the Glades golf course. There were black swans gliding past and many other birds. The apartment was very well set out and comfortable and no noise from neighbours. The golf course is the jewel of the gold coast courses and we played many! It is so well situated near the Pacific Highway so getting about North or South was a breeze as were visits to the beautiful hinterland and the beaches. This was our first home exchange and a wonderful experience from the start of messages with Christine and Andrew to staying with them on our way back South at the end of August. They were so helpful throughout and with stacks of well set out information waiting for us when we arrived. They left our home beautifully clean and tidy.
We loved our time in Merrijig. Patsy and Peter’s home was very welcoming, comfortable and clean and so easy to move in and enjoy from the start. The wood fire, with loads of wood ready cut, was a great addition on the cooler evenings. Best of all were the fantastic views over the countryside, walks from the front door and birds and wildlife all around. Patsy and Peter went to a lot of trouble to make sure we would find everything in the local area that we could want by providing loads of information and introductions to groups that were of interest to us. If you are looking for an exchange to enjoy the Australian country, with great amenities close by, Andrew and I highly recommend swapping with Patsy and Peter.
