Our experience with this exchange was 100% positive. The owners helped make the exchange come off without a hitch with great advance preparation and communications. The home is located on a golf course close enough to enjoy the course view and far enough back to still be private and quiet. The home is beautiful and has everything required to make a stay there comfortable. We enjoyed the golf courses in the area and visiting the attractions in the vicinity, including Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake and downtown Truckee. The area offers something for every recreational appetite.

What we said about Barry and Bev's house:

This home is just darling and only two minutes from the beach! Bev and Barry were wonderful to work with -- helping with sights, etc. Grandkids played in the surf each day and enjoyed each minute. We loved the Manzanita location -- a special little community that you miss from Highway 101, but it is nestled next to the beach with beautiful sunsets and views. Oh, and when visiting Manzanita be sure to taste Mudd Dogs on Laneda Avenue Tues-Sun, 11-4:00. Special and yummy! Karen and Paul Truckee, California

I definitely recommend exchanging with these folks. Their home is nice, and Tahoe is spectacular. They were thorough and helpful setting up the exchange and made sure we knew about where to go in the area and how to make the most of our stay. We took advantage (thanks!) of the amenities associated with their community including discounted lift tickets to Tahoe Donner ski area. A positive experience all around.

What we said about Tyler's house:

We enjoyed our time in this typical SF home -- built on a hill with great views of homes on the hills and the Bay in the distance. It is a perfect home for two couples -- master on main floor (upstairs) and large 2nd bedroom downstairs, ensuite with kitchenette. They left us with lots of neighborhood information (restaurants, BART, etc.) and SF tourist information. They were very easy to work with and very accommodating. We really loved our visit.

Karen Meyer and Paul Duggan have a spectacular, large house that looks out on a golf course at Truckee, California - and we enjoyed countless dinners and breakfasts on the deck watching the golfers (and occasionally providing play-by-play). Karen and Paul provided everything we needed (and left our place spotless when we returned) for a really great home exchange. This place is at 6500 feet elevation, so you get warm days and cool nights. There's lots of wildlife to watch (we saw coyotes on several days, but no bears). The Truckee - Lake Tahoe area is fantastic if you like to hike, mountain bike, golf, or water ski. Both Lake Tahoe and nearby Lake Donner are beautiful lakes, and the Truckee River is a beautiful stream flowing out of Lake Tahoe and through the town - there's a great bike trail along good portions of it. You can climb a few peaks if you like (we did Mt. Rose in Nevada - 10,700 ft.), without a lot of technical stuff (just a good hike). This area is fabulous for outdoor people - and equally so in the winter when the place gets buried with snow. Squaw Valley is an easy drive. The town of Truckee is fun with an "old west" vibe that showcases the local interest in its fascinating history. There are lots of good eateries too! Thanks to Paul and Karen for providing such a great home exchange.

What we said about Diane and Don's house:

We thoroughly enjoyed a week's stay in this beautiful home overlooking Deep Cove, located in the very eastern part of North Vancouver. This location is perfect as it is quiet and yet only 20-30 minutes to downtown Vancouver. There are a number of steps to reach the main house level, and thus the spectacular view. We enjoyed watching kayakers, boaters, crew, fishermen and even some water skiers. And Deep Cove has a beautiful promenade along the bay with parks and benches, and the one block downtown area is lined with many restaurants. Diane and Don were easy and fun to work with -- very thorough and they gave us lots of information of things to do in the area and many places to hike, which is their passion. We feel they are our "friends" even though we have never met, except we did enjoy a Skype "visit" beforehand. They left our home in perfect condition -- clean and spotless! My stay in this beautiful condo was absolutely perfect. The owners were very thorough in their preparation for my stay. The condo is centrally located in San Diego county to visit areas in San Diego proper, as well as coastal communities and northern San Diego country cities. The house was well stocked, the location was peaceful and the owners were delightful in every aspect. I would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful condo.

What we said about Jeannine's house:

This is a beautiful home with fantastic views of Puget Sound! We are from San Diego and enjoyed our stay very much. The house is as described in the listing. There was lots of space . . . enough room for our two daughters and two grandchildren (from Seattle) to join us -- 3 bedrooms. Vashon Island is "quiet", but a great change from hectic lives and cities. Jeannine is great to work with . . . she left us a map of the island and a local weekly paper with information on shops, restaurants, and events. Very helpful. The Island has great little harbors to explore, a lighthouse to see and lots of gorgeous views of Puget Sound. Most of the restaurants are burgers and pizza, but The Hardware Store is a gem with great food. And there are two large grocery stores on the Island that have everything you'll need. Our home was left perfect upon our return. It was as if we had never left home! Thank you, Jeannine, for a great Home Exchange! Karen and Paul San Diego #109016

This was a very nice trade for us. Karen and Paul were most gracious both before and during our stay at their lovely townhouse. Their home was well appointed and comfortable for us and our six year old grandson. They had created an extensive book explaining how everything worked in their home, along with some great suggestions for eating and sightseeing around the town. Since we had similar tastes we even found out how to work our TV remote. Rancho Bernardo is a very quiet suburb of San Diego, less than 30 minutes from everything in the town of San Diego and the beaches. The sunsets were serene with the colors and the breakfasts on the porch were a fun way of beginning the day. This quiet home was a great spot to come back to after a hectic day of sightseeing. We would highly recommend Karen and Paul’s townhouse for a great visit to San Diego. Thanks Karen for all your help.

What we said about Melissa and Rich's house:

We had a delightful and beautiful time in Canmore, at the base of the Canadian Rockies, at Melissa and Rich's townhouse. You can see the majestic granite rocky mountains outside their front deck, as seen in their listing photo. The townhouse is 3 stories, with the main living area on the middle floor and the 3 bedrooms and 1 very large remodeled bathroom on the top floor. There was plenty of room for us, our two adult daughters, son-in-law and grandkids. The area is quiet and relaxing and only a few minutes to Canmore (even walkable) for groceries and restaurants, only about 10 miles to Banff, and Canmore is located an hour south of Lake Louise, and just over an hour to the Calgary airport. It is in a perfect location. We toured Banff one day, and that place crowded and full of activity. This townhouse was very pleasant with nice walks outside the back deck. If you live in San Diego and want to exchange in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, this is the place you should go. They love to come to San Diego to visit their daughter and grandson. If we ever want to journey back up there, we'd contact Melissa! Karen and Paul, San Diego

A great exchange at Karen and Paul's beautiful and comfortable home. Their information book, brochures and maps made it easy to plan visits to anywhere in the San Diego area. They were also very accommodating to our granddaughter visiting us from Seattle on her spring break, leaving crafts for her to enjoy. The condo is in a park like setting with rolling hills and great views of the mountains to the west. Included is a community center with heated pool and spa. Thank you Karen and Paul for an enjoyable exchange. Randle & Pam, Tempe, Az.
