Welcome to Andalucia
We are a Danish family of 5, and this house is our beloved family holiday home. We spend as much time here as possible.
My husband Jesper is a medical doctor, I am a physiotherapist, teaching pilates and mindfulness. Our children, girl 26 studying her Major in Surrey, boy 23 studying in Denmark and boy 18 studying in denmark.
We enjoy culture, music, history, cooking, reading and outdoor activities like cycling, walking in the mountains, sailing and surfing.
The whole family also enjoy sports a lot. Tennis, golf, and the sons play soccer as well. They are also keen new surfers.
We are an easygoing family, who have had the possibillity of travelling a lot around the world.
We like to experience other countries, cultures and to meet the people and the everyday life there.
We are involved in a healthproject in Bolivia, "integrated medicin in the country"
In our house we have often had exchange students from different countries, who have attended school for a year in Denmark.
We don´t always travel all of us. Sometimes only my husband and I. Sometimes with one or two of the youngsters. And sometimes our daughter travels with her husband Magnus 28 who is a journalist.
We have had 9 very succesfull exchanges, and find it the perfect way of travelling.
We are experienced Home Exchangers and recognize the concerns of strangers living in your house. We are responsible and reliable people who will respect and care for your home. Our children are wellbehaved and have respect for other peoples homes.
We have often cared for plants and for cats when homeexchanging, and we gladly will again.
May 1 — September 10, 2016 These dates are flexible
We are looking for a short break
We love to get to know the local culture and people.
House exchanging is a perfect way to experience this. You often get to
know places you might otherwise have overlooked.
We have listed some of our prefered places but it could somewhere else..
We welcome all suggestions and will reply to all.
We have recently spent 11 days in the lovely town of Frigiliana, Spain in a home which we organized through homeexchange.com. We began talking with Suzanne in August of 2012 and arranged to swap houses for a period of time in late June / early July 2013. Suzanne is a more experienced home exchanger than me, and was very helpful throughout the year in contributing information to help in the planning and preparation of our trip. All information given was clear, timely and informative. We had the pleasure of a well-timed, brief meeting in the airport in Boston upon their arrival and our departure to Spain. I felt very comfortable with the exchange during our communication but even a bit more after meeting Suzanne and her husband and son. Upon our arrival in Spain, we drove to their home and maneuvered our way through the narrow streets to Suzanne’s home. Frigiliana is a gorgeous town less than an hour from Malaga, set in the hills…. all white buildings and windy pedestrian streets that weave their way through little alleys and up hillsides. We were thrilled! We enjoyed every day of our stay in typical Spanish style; up late in the mornings and to bed late at night. We certainly had plenty to do; sightseeing to the Nerja Caves and Alhambra, playing at the plentiful and beautiful beaches in and around Nerja and also at the local pool, venturing to the Aqua Tropic water park, and dining in and around Frigiliana and Nerja. We also loved sightseeing drives up the coast toward Almunecar and the more isolated beaches along the coastline. Perhaps most of all though, we just enjoyed our evening walks around Frigiliana. It’s such an incredibly charming place which brought us a lot of peace. My favorite evening was wandering up the hill toward the castle for the magnificent views over the town. Suzanne had given us a great deal of information in the house as well which was laid out in an easy to read guidebook. We used it daily to plan our days around! With our young family, we found Suzanne’s home very accommodating, as we were able to cook at home, sit and eat on one of the 2 terraces and let the kids relax and unwind in a homey environment. The house is gorgeous and well equipped. The living is set over 3 floors with a center courtyard facing some other homes – one of which Suzanne also owns. Suzanne has taken great care in decorating the home with finds from the area. We also enjoyed thumbing through the various books they have on the bookshelf about the local area. As we had children with us, we certainly got a lot of exercise toting them and their gear up and down the stairs of Frigiliana. It’s a town that will keep you fit (!)- which we thought was great, as it allowed us to eat more tapas and enjoy an extra cerveza! We very much enjoyed our stay and can’t speak highly enough about Suzanne, her home, Frigiliana and the local area. It is a holiday we will always remember. Now the big question for us is when can we return? ☺ Thank you so much! Beth, John, Cary, Charlie and Elise Drake York, Maine
We were lucky enough to be invited to beautiful Maine by Beth and family, who went above and beyond to assist with making our stay the best we have experienced so far with homeexchange. They are really good and helpful people. We shortly met at the airport. That added a nice touch to staying in their house. We knew who they were and had a really good feeling about them going to our house. Their house is gorgeous, very well organized and very charming. The garden with the pool is a little piece of heaven. We enjoyed every minute there. It was so lovely arriving at the house, very welcoming. And waiting for us was something to eat and drink. And a very useful guide that Beth had made. With all the small and big tips and ideas needed for us to get the best out of our stay. We can warmly recommend a stay in their house. We were only three but it´s a big house , very good for a family of 3 children. York is a beautiful place to spend your holidays. We loved York and Maine in general. We are surely going back to that area. Thanks for everything Suzanne, Jesper and Sigurd
We have just left the area of Frigiliana. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! It is the most charming, peaceful, festive, white Moorish village we have ever visited! We feel like we know Suzanne after all of our communcations. She and Jesper are experienced home exchangers who know just the right things to do! We thank you for your patience and for making plans with us. We hope to do it again. With sincere gratitude, The Soffer Family
