Greetings from Point Richmond
Bill recently retired as an engineering manager after careers at Apple and Hewlett-Packard. Barbara and Bill now own an Internet-based company (Horseproperties.net and USAWaterviews.com) and are enjoying traveling, while working, throughout the world. Barbara is originally from Germany and Bill from the US. We are very flexible on dates as we can work from anywhere with a WiFi connection. We have done about 11 very successful exchanges and never had a problem. We will treat your home as though it's our own and we will leave it as we found it.
Point Richmond is a perfect location for anyone who wants to get the best of city life -- centrally located for all the Bay Area has to offer, and yet safe and quiet. The house is bright and comfortable, and the location is safe and convenient to freeways, ferries, and other public transportation. We have a beagle named Max -- he's 13, friendly and mellow, rarely barks. He can be included in the exchange, or we can make other arrangements for him. We also have a 2016 Subaru Outback and a 2002 VW Eurovan Weekender (includes a bed and cooking stuff for camping) which could possibly be included in an exchange.
We love exploring new places. Especially like hiking, beaches, swimming, and music (mostly jazz).
Exchanged with our NYC Condo May 2009. Absolutely fabulous home and experience. I would highly recommend this home for an exchange. It was large, bright and beautiful in a great location. The people were very accommodating and took very good care of our home. Could not have asked for a better experience!
My wife and I stayed in Bill and Barbara's home in Point Richmond a few months ago. This review is long overdue! We had such a wonderful experience in their home! Their home is beautiful and was everything we expected and more! We were lucky to meet Bill and Barbara a couple times before we did the exchange. They are great people! Very nice and fun to hang out with! Thee best way to describe Point Richmond is to call it a, "postcard town", AKA something you would see in a movie! :-) Great shops, bars, restaurants, public pool, great hills, scenery, paths for jogging, etc. etc. etc. Easy access to San Francisco, wine country and everything the bay area has to offer! Great neighbors and all around a wonderful experience! If you are looking for a fun, safe and relaxing getaway, this is your place! Bill and Barbara were also very responsive to all of our emails and helped with every detail imaginable! We highly recommend an exchange with them! Zach and Fah
Had a great time in Chiang Mai. Stayed in their condo by the University and it was very clean with a great, convenient central location. Highly recommended. Try the vegetarian restaurant in the temple just a few blocks away. Zach and Fah are extremely responsive whenever we had a question or a problem. Great people for an exchange!
Bill and Barbara maintain a wonderful home in a location that is hard to beat for exploring the Bay area. It is well equipped with all necessities, the bathrooms are grand, there is a large back porch is available for lounging, and the place is comfortable. The immediate neighborhood is very pleasant and offers visitors a variety of eateries within easy walking distance. Public transport is available nearby that serves San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Marin County, etc. should you not wish to drive to those areas. The hosts provided lots of visitor brochures, flyers, maps, guide books as well as clear information about the house, appliances,, electronic equipment. They left our home and car clean and undamaged. Our two cats were apparently well cared for in our absence as they looked fit and healthy and did not complain on our return It would be difficult, in our opinion, to find a better exchange in the area. Steve and Blanche
We stayed in Steve and Blanche's house for the past two weeks and found everything exactly as stated -- a great house, very comfortable, convenient to Hilo -- and we also exchanged cars. Had a wonderful time and met Steve and Blanche who were delightful and showed us around Hilo before they left for the exchange. Don't expect any nightlife in Hilo, but there is tons to do on the Big Island!
Our week in this charming Port Richmond cottage was nothing less than spectacular. Beautifully positioned with the entire Bay area at our fingertips we enjoyed exploring areas of Oakland, San Francisco and the delightful historical town of Port Richmond. Bill & Barbara's home is a comfort haven and exquisitedly appointed in Old World detail. We just loved our stay.
What a perfect exchange. Marianne and Tom left our house in excellent order, and their house was understated in their photos and description. It was spectacular! A turn of the century Craftsman home in central LA, with easy access to freeways and downtown. And we felt like we were in a historic Hollywood home with Marianne's studio memorabilia framed on walls and her movie and TV collections on display. Also, a very nice backyard and a great DVD collection. What a fantastic place and wonderful exchange! Highly recommended.
We stayed at Bill and Barbara's cozy luxurious retreat. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with suggestions on where to enjoy a good meal and a tourist book for the bay area. Their home is situated in a quiet and friendly neighborhood just blocks from downtown and walking distance from the beach. We enjoyed morning hikes in the mountains and quick drives to San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland. Communication was clear and comfortable. It is clear that Bill and Barbara have an eye for beauty and functionality. Everything we could think of (including phone chargers built into the night stand, heated kitchen floors, large shower, big bath tub, and keyless entry) was at our fingertips before we could think of it. We highly recommend an exchange with Bill and Barbara.
Great exchange! Brittany and Jethro are wonderful people, explained everything and documented their apartment access and how to use everything in their place. They responded quickly to emails and text messages and left our house in perfect condition. They were wonderful to deal with and the location, directly across from the Grove and Farmer's Market, was great. So was the pool and spa. Their apartment was clean and everything worked properly.
We were staying in Bill and Barbara's lovely home in June-July 2015 and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. Their home is full of light and you can sit on their patio overlooking their garden whole day and enjoy much warmer weather than San Francisco or Berkeley (which are at that time of the year quite foggy and cold). Bill and Barbara were also very communicative and took very nice care of our apartment. We definitely recommend them as exchange partners and their home is a perfect spot for exploring the Bay Area and Napa/Sonoma valleys in the north.
This exchange was absolutely perfect and we were totally delighted with Nela and Jakub's apartment. It is even better than the photos -- extremely convenient, and immaculate. It is within a block of public transportation, which we used every day until we discovered that Uber was available in Prague and is very cheap, fast, and convenient. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood and we weren't disappointed in any of them. Nela and Jakub were responsive at all times via email and/or Skype and we highly recommend their apartment for your stay in Prague, now our favorite international city. And, to top it all off, they left our house even cleaner than they found it.
