Welcome to Barcelona
We are a married couple with 2 kids. Daniel (1975) is a researcher about Barcelona's city history and Eva (1973) is professional photographer. We are self employed and we can travel anytime if we can manage the dates. We are non smokers. We can take care of your pets and plants. We are involved with Barcelona's cultural life, so we can suggest you activities to do and places to visit. Our son Gabriel was born in March 2008 and our daugthter Jana in May 2010. Since 2008 we have exchanged several times with families from the US (9 different homes), Holland (1), Switzerland (1), Australia (1), Morocco (1) and Italy (4). Profile updated September 2014.
Due to our profession, which is also our passion, we love photography and museums, specially those about history and arts. We also love to play tennis, walk, play with the children at playgrounds, world food restaurants, fresh food markets and other unexpected discoveries that every country in the world has to offer to their visitors.
Jacob's appartment is perfectly located in central Amsterdam and lovely decorated, we were very thankful to him for our short notice non simoultaneous exchange. He is a very interesting and convenient exchanger if you want to visit Amsterdam.
Daniel and Eva were very welcoming and a delight to exchange with. They made us feel at home and even provided some food and wine to get us started. Their apartment is lovely and light filled and the children loved the easy access to many parks and the beach. Thanks from John and Maria
It was very nice to swap home with John and Maria and the kids, they are very respectfull and considerate people, very interesting as home exchangers.
We just returned home from a wonderful 2-week home exchange in Barcelona. Daniel and Eva were very helpful in orienting us to their neighborhood (Poblenou), which was a great location for families with kids. Multiple parks within walking distance (one right across the street and one a 15 minute walk away, with giant slides...the kids could have stayed for hours), nearby grocery stores, quiet building out of the fray of downtown, etc. Great train access to old town Barcelona, Las Rmblas, etc, and train stations for jumping off to day trips outside of Barcelona. Home was very well set up for kids (our kids, 3 & 5, LOVED their toys...one of the best parts of a home exchange with other families is the new toys!). We look forward to hosting Daniel and Eva's family in Berkeley this summer!
This clean and functional apartment in the newer area of Barcelona has all the basic amenities. It is easily accessible by bus and metro lines, 15-20 mins from the center. The Poble Nou area also offers it's own charming little Rambla with plenty of cafes and shops. It is a safe urban family neighborhood. Daniel and Eva were very friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The owners speak very good english and told us what to see and do while in Barcelona. We had a great time and expierience.
