- extended family members and friends sometimes ages vary/no children (1)
Hola from New Mexico!
I'm a retired teacher, theater, film and TV performer who is looking to travel, sometimes alone, sometimes with family and extended family. I'm interested in a long term (2 to 3 months) exchange in the UK sometime in 2015, but am also interested in shorter stays primarily in Europe and Eastern USA anytime.
Frances was gracious enough to do an exchange with us on relatively short notice. She was flexible, responsive and easy to communicate with. Her home is located in a beautiful historic neighborhood, with tree-lined streets and interesting homes all around. We were very comfortable there, and wish we had more time to stay longer. The interior definitely reflects a home filled with care and love. All of her furniture is so comfortable, and there are several nice areas to just sit and relax. The front living room is perfect for a quality visit with friends or family, or some quiet reading time. The kitchen is just the right size for making casual meals, and our kids enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar. Both bathrooms have been designed very nicely, especial the master bath - it has a HUGE soaking tub and large glass shower. And what a perfect New Mexico backyard! We just loved sitting under the covered patio and watching the kids play. If you get a chance to exchange with Frances, I'd go for it! Happy Exchanging, Madeline & Family
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Bernauer Family's lovely and conveniently located townhome! They, in turn, spent a week in my home and even with 2 small kids left the house in perfect shape and took very good care of my cat (a favorite new friend of their young daughter). We kept in touch with texts the entire time and plan to exchange again in the future -- this time adding each other's vehicles -- and look forward to meeting in person one day! Thanks, Bernhauers, for such a successful "first exchange!"
