We have exchanged house with Gunila, Bruce and their two children 10 days this Summer, which was a really nice experience! Gunila and Bruce are very friendly people and their house in Benejarafe is very charming and cosy and has got everything you need. They had made everything perfectly ready for us – and we could even use oil, grains, tea etc. from their kitchen. We had all our meals outside on their terrasse - very charming surrounded by trees and a lot of plants. We looked after their friendly and calm cats and dogs and we – including our children - had a very good time with them! Benejarafe is a beautiful little town situated at Costa del Sol, and is has – unlike many of the other cities along the cost – avoided high buildings and massiv tourism. Still you can find a few nice restaurants and cafes and the beach which is in walking distance (10-15 min.) from the house is just wonderful! When we came home from our holiday we found our house nice and clean, excactly in the same condition as we left it. We can highly recommand an exchange with Gunila and Bruce!
We spent our Christmas holiday between Gunila and Bruce’s peaceful home and the various delicious restaurants located along the main road. The quiet evenings by the fireplace with the most adorable dogs and cats will always be in our memories, not to mention lunches on the sunny terrace although it was January. Gunila’s mother who lives just nearby was very helpful and gave us good advice. Benajarafe is a lovely village which has been preserved from anarchic construction, which makes it a very pleasant place to spend a holiday even in winter thanks to an incredibly mild weather. We also could make wonderful daily trips to Granada, Malaga, Cordoba and Sevilla. All this region is beautiful and we’re looking forward coming back. We found our house just as we had left it and they took great care of our dog, fishes and garden. We would definitely recommend an exchange with Gunila and Bruce.
We exchanged our home January 2015. The house is perfect and just as desribed. The information provided was spot on, and following the advise on eating out we tried and enjoyed inmensely the local Creol cuisine, doesn´t get more exotic (and cheap). To add to the other exchanger´s comments, we babysat Luna the dog, who is the sweetest thing. Also, we recommend the different markets (St. Pierre, St. Paul), where you can try out amazing fruit and vegetables, and the local chili pickle. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, but it didn´t spoil the holiday as there was so much to do, and always warm enough to go snorkling in the local Lagoon, encountering stunning sea life as lionfish, sea turtle, millions of other different tropical fish.... Reunion Island is unforgettable, and Jean Marie and Maria are very nice people. Also, they have very friendly neighbours, always ready and willing to help. We came back to the house just as we had left it, and all our animals had obviously been well looked after and cared for. We would strongly recommend an exchange with this lovely family, you won´t regret it!
We spent good holidays in Andalusia, thie local aera is full of geat places to explore (Malaga city 20 min by car, Granada 1h15, Nerja 20 min, beach 5 min on foot ....). Gunila's Home is well located, the animals of the family are very kind, our 2 children liked them. After the exchange, our house was very clean, everything passed well. We recommend to exchange with Gunila and her family, it was perfect !
We exchanged house for 2 weeks with the Rivoal family in August 2015. Their house is lovely, very modern and spacious, with an out door jacuzzi that fits minimum 5 people, and a covered pool that stayed warm even in cloudy weather. The family has a very cute cat, much to the delight of our two girls. They have prepared a home book and tons of info about the house and Brittany, so you can get the most out of your stay. They also have got a helpful neighbour, who is at hand if you need anything. Brittany itself is beautiful, we explored the surrounding villages, castles, a bit of the coast and enjoyed kayak, trekking, and an amazing nearby adventure park on the one rainy day we had. On one of the canals we went to see 11 locks, and were lucky enough to see a boat go throught them. On the north coast we saw dolphins from the beach. The family had also prepared us a welcome basket, and when we arrived at home our house was spotless. We higly recommend an exchange with the Rivoal family in their lovely home.
